JESUS ONLY CLAIMED others like KRISHNA BUDDHA have actually made people GODs ... by letting go their humanity and raised them to GOD... JESUS was killed by christians (LOL) you are converted how do you know... IN fact Christianity is based on total lies zealotry and JESUS took the faith of HINDUISM ... HISTORICAL records show it... Nevertherless not taking that right now... He claimed whereas Others not only showed and proved but transcended people above bad to HOLINESS... LOL... CHRISTIANITY is stuck in hypocritical MORALITY... and is evil incarnation... IN FACT if christ comes pope and company would be first to hang him... LOL... So he claimed others did it and are continually doing it... to the realms of truth... reality... and ultimate ecstasy... where good and bad vanish and real bliss holiness comes The claims of his coming back to life are nothing but hallunications... whereas others have lived for more than 500 years and have been coming back since time immorial even before christ was born and there are complete proofs for it... LOL There is nothing like satisfying life and pleasing to GOD that is an hoodwinking and clandastine plan to make people slave of popes bishops and the like... OTHERS MAKE YOU ONE WITH GOD...to the extent that you are no more... in other words you become GOD... LOL... CHRIST who couldn't save himself how could he save you? Review: I've read a few other works by Michael Green that have been very scholarly and cumbersome in nature. This one is easy-to-read yet intellectually respectable. His stated goal is to be down-to-earth and concise, and he achieves it. Green addresses such common themes as:
"It doesn't matter what you believe as long are you are sincere."
"Aren't all religions pretty much the same?"
"But surely all religions lead to God?"
"What makes Jesus so special, then?" After replying to these themes, Green makes a solid case for the uniqueness of the Christian faith in general, and Jesus in particular. This book is excellent reading for all believers, and for non-believers who are struggling in one or more of these areas. I recommend it highly.

Summary: Short, sensible discussion
Review: Michael Green has written another helpful book that will be very useful to people asking questions about Christianity. It is so good, it is worth buying a few copies so that you can have one available to give away when you are talking about the gospel with friends. He clears up many popular misconceptions such as
1. It doesn't matter what you believe, as long as you are sincere
2. All religions are pretty much the same
3. All religions lead to God
4. Jesus is only one of many great religious leaders In the last few chapters, he shows that Jesus is unique because He is the only one who
* claimed to be able to show us what God is like
* claimed to be able to deal radically with human wickedness
* came back to life, showing that his promises were true
* promised to live within us and help us to live satisfying lives which are pleasing to God I am not happy with Green's enthusiastic endorsement of the Alpha course, but with this caveat, I heartily recommend this book as a terrific source for people thinking about religion and people who are seeking to introduce their friends to Christ.

Summary: Excellent popular level apologetics
Review: The book is intended to provide apologetical arguments that are accessible to the general reader. It is not surprising that the treatment of central issues is somewhat truncated at times. However, this is as planned. Green superbly accomplishes his goals: the writing of a popular level introduction to Christian apologetics, and, the whetting of the reader's appetite to investigate further. There is a danger inherent in writing short books for the general reader. The problem is that a few readers who consider and promote themselves as intellectual experts will give the book a short and general reading. In doing so, they tend to criticize positions that the author has not actually presented. Such critics commit the very same exegetical sin they attribute to Green: they present superficial, controversial and inaccurate claims rather than helpfully substantive ones. For example, one critic has made an elementary mistake in directing us to "Chapter 5: No other great teacher ever [sic] claimed to bring us to God." In fact, Green writes just the reverse: "No Other Great Teacher Even Claimed to Bring God to Us." His point is precisely that other religions tend to focus on a process of "salvation" in which humans strive [perhaps with a divine assist] to get to God. In contrast, the Green affirms the gospel message in which God took the initiative--reaching out to us while we were yet sinners. Green is also portrayed as making the claim that "...Christ was the only god-man teacher who promised salvation for his true followers." The issue is not that other religions may or may not claim to provide "salvation" of one sort or another. The question is whether or not the "salvation" offered by other religious figures is as credible or as amazingly suited to meeting the needs of the human condition. Are the claims of other religious leaders supported by historical documents written very soon after the events they describe? Are the manuscripts as well attested as the New Testament documents? Is the term "salvation" being used in a univocal sense by all religions? These are issues with which Green deals, and in a more complex manner than the rather superficial objection offered to the contrary. Green is acccused, as well, of making "ridiculous" and "ludicrously false" statements concerning the unique nature of the salvation offered through the crucified Christ. Other religious figures are sometimes presented as having been sacrificed in a very similar manner. Unfortunately, those making this objection have apparently failed--again--to consider Green's own premises and conclusions. Concerning the Buddha, for example, the earliest traditions do not present him as the one and only God incarnate, crucified in atonement for sin. While any later traditions may claim any number of things about the Buddha, the earliest ones clearly do not present him in this way. In dealing with Buddhism, Green raises the philosophical issue of a substantial self and personal identity over time. How do these relate to Buddhist "salvation"? To simply equate the soteriological doctrines of Jesus Christ and Buddha is stupendously simplistic. It is true that there are virgin born, resurrected savior myths in antiquity. The early Christians themselves were very well aware of them, and welcomed the common ground this provided to present the case for Christ as the one, true savior. Green does not deny any of this. His point is that when careful comparison is made, the work of no other "savior" has been so copiously documented, so closely in time to the events described. No other "savior" lived a life of ethical perfection, consistent with his teachings, no other is so rooted in the real history of humankind. This is the vein in which Green argues. His statements appear rash only to those who have not considered the entire context that Green has carefully provided. The book is not, of course, faultless (how many are?). Green would be the first to affirm this. However, it serves its stated goals excellently. The book is very helpful indeed, and highly recommended.

Summary: Jesus the only way and the truth
Review: This book is helping those perishing souls out there to find a real meaning in life. When the glorious God who left all his glory to become a man and shed his blood and life for his creatures, history changed. What started from 12 disciples is the strongest and the most faithful way of life history has ever seen.
No one today can even count their date of birth if it wasn't for Jesus. B.C stands for before christ and A.D stands for Anna Domini (from Jesus birth) The whole universe and its system is built on him, for him and through him. One day every soul will see who He is. They will all bow down to our Creator who willingly lay his life down for us.
May God bless all those who curse Christians. Because we disciples of Christ only know or strive to Love one another just as our God loved us and gave his life for us.
Pls tell this prayer if you want to get well and healed not just physically but mentally too. Our Almighty God, we thankyou for your mercy and grace. Please shine your light through our darkness so that we may come to light and get free from the pressures we think we have to live with. In Jesus Name we pray.

Summary: This book is based on very poor arguments.
Review: This was certainly one of the most poorly researched religious works I have read, and I have read hundreds of them. I understand what Mr. Green is trying to do, and I'm not saying that his premise that "Christianity is the only way to God" is intrinsically flawed. He simply made a very poor argument, and several of his implications were based upon terribly false premises. For example: "Chapter 5: No other great teacher ever claimed to bring us to God" In this chapter he asserts that our Lord Jesus Christ was the only god-man teacher who promised salvation for his true followers. This is of course a ludicrously false statement. I am a student of ancient history and theology and off the top of my head I can easily come up with the following list of god-men who promised salvation for their followers: Osiris/Horus, Mithra, Zoroaster, Gotama Buddha, Christna/Krishna, Bacchus, Dionysus, Attis, Sakia Muni, Thammuz, Wittoba, Iao, Hesus, Quetzalcoatl, Prometheus, and many many more. One of the sayings the God Mithra said to his 12 disciples centuries before our Christian era was:
"He who will not eat of my body and drink of my blood, so that he will be made one with me and I with him, the same shall not know salvation." Example of one of the sayings of the God Thammuz:
"Trust ye in your resurrected God;
For the pains of which Thammuz endured
Our salvation have procured." Another ancient saying, this one of the God Prometheus: "Lo! streaming nailed to the fatal tree
His all atoning blood,
Is this the Infinite? Yes, 'tis he,
Prometheus, our God!
Well might the sun in darkness hide,
And veil his glories in,
When God, the Great Prometheus, died
for man the creature's sins." One of the author's other ridiculous assertions is that our Lord Jesus Christ was the only god-man to ever be crucified for the sins of humanity. Again here is a partial list of ancient Gods said to have been crucified for the sins of the world: Attis, Buddha, Bacchus, Heracles, Krishna, Mithra, Thammuz, Wittoba, Iao, Quetzalcoatl, Quirinus, Prometheus, Thulis, Indra, Alcestos, Crite of Chaldea, and Bali. There are a few more but I can't recall them. I know this was not meant to be a serious treatment of theology, more of a brief opinion guide for the lay person. However as a devout Christian I don't appreciate the author's poor research (or perhaps flat out lying, but I give him the benefit of the doubt). And I certainly don't appreciate the misleading assertions he makes that I assume most average non theology/history buffs take for truth. Overall this was an abysmally ignorant treatment of why someone should choose our Lord Jesus Christ over the many other god-men who came before him. There are so many compelling reasons to choose come to Christ, I honestly don't understand why an author would have to resort to lies and/or ignorance to try and guide people to our faith. How about the TRUTH? I thought that was our Lord's message...
