Summary: Best Book on Prayer that I've Ever Read!
Review: This book makes a familiar passage of scripture, the Lord's Prayer, come to life. The author breaks down each section of Jesus' prayer and applies it to a real person's everyday prayer life, and as I read this book, I found myself easily applying the concepts discussed in my own prayer life. In fact, this book has changed my whole concept of prayer. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in transforming their prayer life. Simply put, this is the best book on prayer that I have ever read.

Summary: A great book for the layperson
Review: This is a pleasant and easy read that will take little time and give big rewards. It completely changed my understanding and perspective on the way Jesus wants us to pray, thereby changing the way I pray. The Lord's Prayer as it is explained in this book helps us understand God's character, and this knowledge has brought me great peace and joy. I believe praying this way is opening up avenues for God to work in me and in the world through me.

Summary: Very readable. Excellent work
Review: This is a tremendously readable book, and by far, the best analysis I have ever read on The Lord's Prayer. Surprisingly, this is one of the few written works on the subject that points out that the Lord's Prayer is plural in nature. Give "us" "our" daily bread... Forgive us... Lead us... A welcome relief from the "Name it, and Claim it" theology which has so perverted the cause of Christ. I generously yellow highlighted this book because Dr. Hemphill includes many memorable one sentence gems such as, "God's truths, however, are usually more of an investment than a handout - timeless wisdom that is able not only to comfort or correct us but also to be communicated though us to others." A great read, and well worth the money.

Summary: Best Book on Prayer that I've Ever Read!
Review: Typically of Hemphill, his new work offers practical application of the Lord's prayer. This book challenges not only your thinking, but your heart. What a difference our world would be if we would follow these clear guidelines in our prayer life. In a world that asks, "What's in it for me?," this book offers one reward for prayer--spending intimate time with the Creator. The appendices provides practical tools for your prayer life. He challenges the reader's commitment. "How have I brought honor to God's name today? How have I displayed the kingdom of God in my life?" This book makes you thirst for spiritual things. What a life changer!
