Rating: Summary: Not bad Not great Review: I was skeptical since I disliked the Prayer of Jabez so much but the book isn't that bad. Probably because there are dozens of contributors who share their views on prayer and how it works in their life. People like Charles Swindoll, James Dobson, Joni Eareckson Tada, and the LaHayes. Gaining Contentment by Ms Tada is really good and fits with my simple living lifestyle,I disagree 100% with the Enlarge Your Longing for God piece by Jerry Bridges where he begins by saying "Devotion to G-d is something that only Christians can possess." Because the Torah teaches that Jews not only possess this devotion but it is the core of Torah and Talmud teachings. Sadly this is the kind of arrogance that turns me off of Christianity or at least the typical Christian bookstore writings. Not to mention I know many non-Christians who adore G-d, seek his wisdom and direction and are very blessed because of it. The book is shy 400 pages.
Rating: Summary: Great Motivational Book Review: Right from the beginning this book has you in its grasp! Very well laid out and the contributing authors are OUTSTANDING!! I've already sent copies to family and friends, they LOVE IT!!
Rating: Summary: Daily required reading Review: This book is excellent, but then so was The Prayer of Jabez. This author is very insightful, and this is excellent for those who are unsure about their spiritual walk. Sometimes we need a little boost to get back on the right path, and this book provides that boost. For those faithful Christians, and those who may be staggering in their walk, this should be required reading.
