Traditional Christian thought has taught that God has a specific plan for each of us and it is our job to find out what that is and pursue it. Jerry Sittser takes a different point of view by first making the case that the will of God may not be some specific future plan with all the details already worked out but may in fact be much simpler. What about the problem of pain and suffering? Do those indicate that we are out of the will of God? Jerry Sittser examines these and other questions as he teaches how the will of God may be a lot more liberating than what we have traditionally been taught. Offering a pathway to personal peace through understanding the will of God in a less traditional way, The Will of God as a Way of Life is a highly recommended read.
