Rating: Summary: Honour Israel and everyone else too. Review: A well thought out and sincere book but I wonder if the present evangelical Christian move to embrace Israel is 'balanced'? This is not intended as an anti-semetic statement by the way, I am extremely grateful to the Jews and I also acknowledge that the Lord chose them as the avenue to bring His word to the world. However, Paul wrote in the gospels and I paraphrase,'God has rejected them but at some time a remnant of Jacob will be grafted back into the good olive tree'. We love Israel because we love Christ and the Scriptures but that can blind us to the realism that the doctrine of 'the scribes and the teachers of the law' is alive and well today. Israel should be honoured just because they are human beings because the scriptures tell us to 'honour all people' but we must not be 'partial' for the wrong reasons.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: Fantastic Primer on God's purposes for Israel and how it relates to the church. Good theology as well as having a practical vision that people can give themselves to. The author is well veresed in the subject material and it show's God's heart for Israel without being in anyway anti-Arab or anti-Palestinian.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read For Our Time. Review: If only every Christian, every member of every Church, irrespective of denomination, would read the contents of this book. Read and then study the contents and the parallel Scriptures with an open and honest heart, then the world would see such a revival. Replacement theology would be a thing of the past. God's Promises and inheritance to the Jewish people would at last be understood and the Church would realise it's true relationship to Israel and the Jewish people upon which their faith is founded. Indeed, for all peoples of all religions, the contents of this book should be studied. Anti-Semitism is on the increase and we owe it to ourselves to know the truth about the Jewish people and the Land of Israel as it is actually outlined in the Scriptures. This book opens up these facts to us in an easy to read and clear manner that is so easy to understand. This book proves from Scripture how God sees the Jewish people and Israel. This book reveals to us all that we need to know. With this knowledge, our outlook will receive explosive implications in relation to our interpretation of current events, which will never be the same again. A must read !
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: If you are a stranger to or a novice in the subject of God's promises for Israel, I highly recommend this book. It gives historical and Biblical perspective. I recommend it to Jewish people who do not believe that Yeshua is Messiah as well. It gives a good insight into how the New Testament teaches gentile believers to act and feel in regards to the Jewish people. There's not much "new revelation" for those who have read a plethora of other books on the subject, but what it does do is bring together the best stuff from a lot of other books into one and give some clear focused, practical direction to Christians concerning Israel and Jewish people in general. This book in no way demonizes Arab or Palestinian peoples. It's not anti-Arab at all. In fact the author only briefly refers to it when saying: "Surrounding Arab nations...have found it difficult to acknowledge her identity." That's the understatement of the millennium.

Rating: Summary: A Must-Read For Every Christian Review: If you have been taught your whole life that every reference in the Bible to Jews is really about Christians - you must read this book. My whole life I've read the Bible and thought I was the "chosen people" and the "Children of Israel". Don Finto has opened my mind in a very exciting way. Whether or not you agree with every single idea here, please give yourself the chance to see God and love the Jewish people as never before. I read this book at the beach and could not lay it down!
Rating: Summary: Compassionately Misguided Review: The only reason I give this book 4 instead of 5 stars is because I felt some of it was a little slow. But, on the other hand, there were chapters that gave me so much to think about that my mind raced. The fulfillment of prophecy concerning Israel becoming a nation (1948) and then re-gaining Jerusalem (1967) along with millions of Jews recently beginning to follow Christ are only a few reasons to read this book. This book is not a prophecy study per se, but a look into a few certain areas of prophecy that have everything to do with Israel, the church and the second coming. Being a "gentile", like many who will read this book, I saw many things about how we as American Christians are cluless when it comes to God's chosen people, Israel. We Christians, as a whole, truly have ignored the Jews and even miss-treated them. Not to mention our biased reading of the scripture because of our American churchy mindset. I would highly suggest this book. You will gain new understanding and begin to find yourself praying for things you have never considered.
Rating: Summary: Honour Israel and everyone else too. Review: This book is very well written, and is a "must read" for every Christian. I also highly recommended it for those strating out on their journey to find the Jewish roots of Christianity. It also has encouraging moments of personal faith in action. I recommend it highly.
Rating: Summary: Not at all like Ruth Review: This is a sad book. Don Finto certainly has a love for Jewish people and for Israel and understands the historic guilt of the Christian Church. His desire that Christians repent of their anti-Jewish biases is to be welcomed. But while he uses Ruth as a role model he teaches a two-track system. One for Jews and one for Gentiles. Mr. Finto seems to completely misunderstand Acts 15. The issue was not whether Gentiles should live a Torah submissive life but rather whether circumcision and Rabbinical rulings were required for salvation. The belief that Torah life is only for Jews will continue to split the Jewish people and Gentile people a consequence that Mr. Finto really does not desire.
