Rating: Summary: This book has changed my life Review: I feel that this is a must read for the entire Body of Christ, especially those of us that are called to be leaders, and desire to be "effective leaders".
Rating: Summary: Being totally healed.... Review: I have always had this book on my shelf and never really opened to read it. Then I talked to John Bevere after service one evening about the depression I was experiencing in my life and he recommended this book. I saw the video and read the book and it totally turned my life around. I was healed and freed from depression, by letting go of the fear in my life. Also, I know how to deal with it if it ever decides to creep back in my life. John Bevere with the help of God's word, equipps us with a tool that we can't live without. What a blessing!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Breaking Intimidation Review: I think this is an excellent book. I purchased it because I am having difficulty in my Christian life and saw this book and thought it would help, and it does. It shows how to break free from intimidation and to put ALL of your trust in the Lord, not in yourself or in others, but in Him. Very good book.
Rating: Summary: Breaking Intimidation Review: Outstanding...this book is one of the best. If you don't know where to turn, you can start by turning these pages. Seriously, I could not put this book down.
Rating: Summary: Do not recommend Review: This book teaches a principle of setting a person free by having the person resist and proclaim freedom from the fear of man . I always thought that humility was God's way, and He that was to be the greatest was to be as one that serves and ministers. The way the author describes the process of God's Authority, dealing with a leader or one in Authority over a body of believers, portrays the leader striving to stay in his authority and not letting another knock one out of his or her authority. This, to me, contradicts the Word and what Jesus teaches about authority. He taught that those who were to be put into authority over others were to not strive, but be gentle, and whosoever would be the chiefest, should be as the servant of all. Also, contrary to what this author writes, when one is put into authority he does not lose that authority even if he becomes intimidated by others into preaching with less boldness. I recommend The book Spiritual Authority, by Watchman Nee, for God's view on authority, and how one need not trust in their own selves but in God when put into Authority.
Rating: Summary: Great and Useful in your quest to step out in Christ Jesus Review: When I heard about John I thought he would be just another rigid fundamentalist -- sin-conscious and unable to relate to the common Christian. Instead, what I heard was a message of *balance*. He rightfully points out that many of us love God but few of us *respect* Him. As a result we give place, by surrendering our own place, to the devil. The authority God intended for us is taken from us and used against us! This began with Adam who gave place (authority) to the devil and the devil has exercised that authority against man ever since. John Bevere has a powerful anointing as a result of recognizing his own authority and resisting spiritual intimidation; it shows in this book. I've been a spirit-filled believer for nearly 20 years and I can't remember being affected so strongly by the words of a minister. Since recognizing my own authority and the temptations to surrender it through various forms of intimidation, I have found a new power and focus. This book helped me do that.
