Summary: I had a hard time putting this book down!
Review: First of all, I'm not a fiction reader in general. I prefer Christian non-fiction. However, this one caught my eye. This is the first book by Penelope Stokes that I've read and I think I'll be reading more!

The book has an interesting and very unique premise. After a thunderstorm that affected her computer, Vita (a travel writer who hates to travel) finds that her computer's operating system has been taken over by a strange new program called Treasure Box. As the story unfolds, Vita is consumed by the lives of inhabitants of her computer's story. There are similarities to her own life, but many differences.

Just as the main character can't wait to get back to the computer to see what the next "chapter" of this computer program has to say, you won't be able to wait to get back to this book!

I was a bit confused by the end - I think it came together a bit too quickly and I had a hard time following what was real and what wasn't. But the end result of the Treasure Box program WAS clear, and Vita's life is changed as a result.

Summary: Mystical...Magical...Emotional...a real page turner
Review: I have read a few other books by Penelope Stokes (Blue Bottle Club, Amber Photograph, Amythest Heart, etc.) Some were good, some so-so. The Treasure Box was excellent!

Stokes really made a good blend of magic, bitterness, happiness, sadness, love, hate....you name it. The book is a page turner that draws you in. I recommend it to anyone that likes a little fantasy with alot of real life. The real life situations make you hurt, laugh, cry, love...along with the characters in the book. I think I'll leave it at that. I don't want to ruin the story for any of you but instead entice you to pick it up for yourself! =) Happy Reading!!

Summary: Like reading my diary and opening the key to my heart
Review: I picked up "The Treasure Box" from my local library a few days ago and now that I finished it, I must have my own copy. The author wrote so much more than a book. She has given us a gift this beautiful and magical story. If you have ever doubted the power of love, this book will make you question that doubt.
The characters are written with great attention to detail and you feel like you are right there with them. You cannot compare it to the "love story" format, though it is a book about the power of love and finding ones heart. It is about the discovery of joy, happiness, and love and the end to fear and isolation. This is the best book I have read in a lifetime.

Summary: TEN STARS IF I COULD
Review: This was such a wonderful book. I LOVED it. It was so neat to see it all unfold. It was so well written. This is the first book I have read by this author but I will be buying ALL books from this author. I would have to say this was one of the best books I have ever read.

Summary: The Treasure Box
Review: This was the first book I have read by this author. I loved it. It can be read on different levels. This book shows the power of looking at circumstances from different perspectives. It also gives the concept that a change in belief not only affects our future but also changes our past--it seemed like she was saying that this included our physical past and not just our perception of it.

Summary: Twists and turns
Review: When I read the first chapter of The Treasure Box I thought this was going to be another ordinary, no real plot, women's Christian fictional book. I was delighted to find that I was wrong. It takes many twists and turns and keeps the reader involved with it's story within a story.
The ending was a bit strange, however, and not very plausible.
Thus my four star rating.
It was hard to put this book down.
Read the book.
