Review: Letters to Philip was written a long time ago, however I found it to be very applicable in my life. Shedd shares his views on many different topics of marriage. I would recommend this book to young men who are looking for advice in any relationship they are in. It gives practical advice on courtship to marriage. Being a young man myself it taught me to treat women with more respect. It taught me about women's feelings and what they expect from their man. If you are a young christian man that is currently dating, engaged, or married this is a must read! Sure it was written in the 1960's but it definitely contains some good advice. The book is old fashioned, but then again the way our society is today I wouldn't mind going back to the old ways when it comes to treating girls the right way.

Review: The book "Letters to Philip" is a very well written book that gave some very good advice for new or expecting husbands. It gives a brief outline of how to treat your new wife. It also gives suggestions on how to get through difficult times and how to avoid them in the process. This reader felt the book was good and could of been great except that it fell short in a few ways. For example some of the suggestions he makes on what to say to your wife are outdated and rarely work today. Other than that he gives some very good advice like how to be honest and sincerely mean whatever you say. It also gives advice on what not to do like any kind of abuse or to never embarass her in public. This story does give very good advice on marriage and can be used as an early handbook for marriage in general. It does not cover everything but it does cover many main ideas.

Review: This book has very good helpful tips for any guy who is going to get married or dating as well. It talks about how to treat a women, in the house as well as out of the house. It tells us guys to be gentle and kind to our wife or girlfriend. It talks about how to better up our communcation with our girls, what and what not to say to them. This book helped me to see what I was doing wrong, and what to do better in my relationship. It was easy to read and to the point.

We can learn the knowledge and skill to achieve a better marriage in the future, also knows the solution to improve a husband-wife relationship. The book is a useful tool when in comes to the argument between husband and wife, a resource that teaches man how to be a successful husband. A dictionary for those who is experiencing the stressful and unhappy marriage, also to those who wants to improve and strengthen the marriage relationship.

In the book, the father passed his knowledge and though to his son- Philip. He taught him how to be a good husband that can take good care of the family, a husband that enjoys both himself and his wife, a husband that is trustworthy. He also taught Philip some smart and useful solutions and attitude he must have enable to solve a conflict or just a simple problem between husband and wife.

After reading this book, I start to realize the complicated, stressful part of my future marriage(if possible) and things I must be prepare for when it comes to the time to make my life turning decision. I do want to become a successful man along being a wonderful husband, and this book speaks the truth, the general rule and common sense that is easy for me to understand, I often spend certain amount of time thinking about the meaning of certain passage and try to live with it if it is right.

Review: This was a very interesting book. It told very key issues on what to expect in marriage and what to do in certain situations. The lay out was very nice and it grew into a great story. The advice given in the story was very helpful. It makes you take a good look at how you treat someone you care about. I feel like treating my girlfriend better. It made me realize how special it is to have some body to love. When you are married there is a special bond and this lays out those points very well. I would consider anyone who is looking at how to treat their wife correctly and to stay with them to read this book. It was a very touching story and it will make you look deep into how you treat someone who you love.
