Rating: Summary: READ THIS BOOK !!it is theTruth and Nothing But The Truth Review: As the adage goes the truth will set you free and that is exactly what this book does. I have read some of the other reviews on this book and they simply don't do it justice. I was simply amazed to find out that Mormons actually think they are going to become gods and get their own planet. After reading Fast Facts, I felt more equipped for the battle than ever before.
Rating: Summary: False Information Review: Being a Buddhist, I was appalled to see my faith perversely distorted. Buddhists are portrayed as hypocritical idol worshipers, and sadly this couldn't be farther from the truth. Buddhists do not *worship* anything, rather, we pay homage. If you come across a Buddhist with hands clasped together in front of a statue of Gotama, rest assured we are not worshiping him. We are remembering his loving-kindness (Metta) and paying homage to his great teachings, also known as the Dharma.
Due to Ron's preconceived notions of other faiths and lack of truth within the book, I give this a 1 star. To those who are educated about the worlds faiths, this book only serves to make Ron look like a fool, but to those who are uneducated, this will only confuse.
Rating: Summary: Good overview of the cults Review: I have read many books on cults, including this one. I regularly return to this book for quick information to remind myself of the basic errors in the cults. I maintain a web ministry partially dedicated to the cults [EadsHome Ministries; www.eadshome.com] and still I find this book to be helpful to me over and over. There are many books out there on cults. I would highly recommend this one.
Rating: Summary: Invaluable! Review: I have recently finished teaching a class in my Church on Cults. This book was an invaluable resource for me. It is simple to understand and gives you great material if you just seek a cursory knowledge of what these various Cults believe.

Rating: Summary: Pretty good.. Review: Speaking of fearing what one disagrees with. Ed Decker must fear alot. Speaking of FALSE TEACHINGS. Here is some information that is free. The doctrine of the trinity is false. Christ is a separate individual from God the Father, yet he is equal in power and ability. (Recall prayer in garden of Gethsemane). The true church will have 12 apostles, else why were two more apostles called after Christ was crucified? The early church fell away and the authority was lost. Search the bible and find the passage, and I paraphrase, "surely there will come a falling away." This is in reference to the return of Christ. Since there was a falling away, there must be a "restitution." This means the gospel will be restored. Another false teaching is the idea that baptism isn't necessary, but rather some show of faith. For one, we show faith daily. For two, Christ was baptized to "fulfill all righteousness." Another false teaching: any "good believer" can simply claim authority to bear the name of Christ. Throughout the New Testament there is mention of "ordaining", the use of "laying on of hands", "whatsoever you seal upon earth shall be sealed in heaven." All of these ordinances are done through authority by a physical act, that act being the "laying on of hands." Every church but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Roman Catholic Church does not have a means for conducting any of these ordinances by authority. Since it is obvious why many don't believe in the Roman Catholic church, modern Christianity is establish based on the concept that there is no other way and that there must be no nead for authority and men are left to figure it out for themselves. The good thing is, there is another way; the Truth. Churches don't believe in authority because if they did, it would mean they had none and therefore, much of their efforts would seem in vain. What they don't understand is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints IS the restored church, hence the name Jesus Christ (being True) and Latter Day Saints (as opposed to the saints about 2000 years ago). The bottom line is there is a change required. One must look into the LDS church. One has stereotypes of Mormons. Many people are too comfortable in their sins. A true follower of Christ, if given the opportunity, would recognize the LDS Church. A unfaithful follower would continually try to naysay, argue, or be satisfied with their ignorance. This is not the way of Christ. God is a God of order. Now if that's true, how much order is in seen in the some 10,000 contemporary/protestant religious organizations???? One last false teaching: The bible is all we have.
Rating: Summary: The truth hurts, but is good to know. Review: The facts written in this book have no background other then the Christian opinion of the authors Ron Carlson and Ed Decker. They mention that evolution is a lie and is scientifically impossible. It also comments that if you believe that you are a biproduct of evolution then you should behave like animals. Well, I think apes have more self respect then whoever thinks that. I am a Christian and have no problem accepting that when god created the earth it was done not by magic but by manipulating the elements in the best fashion to create men. This book offers as a quick fix for the closed minded if you ask me, and if you are truly curious about "false teachings" then you should take the time to learn for your self, since the questions you are asking are the most important in your life, right?
Rating: Summary: Pretty good.. Review: This is an ok/good guide on all the counterfiet beliefs against Christianity. There are a few dry spots through out this book.
Rating: Summary: Adam K. Reader of Book Review: This is one of my favorite books. I keep referring back to it over and over, such as when I encounter people of various religious back grounds. It is a great example of how many religions conflict with the bible. It gives a brief synopsis of the history of each major religion and gets right to the point.
