Summary: An Overpowering Vision of Where Mankind is Heading
Review: "There's a New World Coming" is the first Hal Lindsey book I ever read and is the book that inspired me to learn all I could about Bible prophecy. This book is more up-to-date than the newspaper headlines of tomorrow! In this book, Lindsey provides a concise, in-depth, professional analysis of the book of Revelation in the Bible, taking the reader into a future beyond technology - a future of spiritual rebirth and eternal glory. Lindsey's commentary is based upon careful research and follows the details given in Revelation with uncanny accuracy. This book convincingly reveals the book of Revelation as being what it is - an astonishing timetable for man's ultimate destiny. I strongly reccomend this book to anyone, Christians and atheists alike. For the Christian reader, this book will inspire you to set your priorities straight and live for God with all your strength. For the atheistic reader, this book will cause you to consider your eternal destiny seriously. 5 stars.

Summary: Missing Pieces
Review: All in all the book was fairly good. If you are not against God then you must surely be for God. There were a few things in the book that are worth commenting on that I would hope the author has come to realize since 1984.

On page 284 the author is continuing his disbelief of purgatory he says "Contrary to the teachings of some groups, there is no second chance to repent or reform after death.... etc." and then he goes on to give an example of Lazarus and the beggar. Does Hal Lindsey honestly think that on the day he dies he is good enough to see the face of God without being refined by God? Hal said it himself in the book. A good Father will scold his children. Well Hal while you are in purgatory being refined, I would hope you would want the Mother of God, your heavenly Mother to intercede on your behalf as any good mother here on earth would do to make you look better to the Father. Do you not think that Jesus did not love his Mother, his number one disciple just as you love your earthly mother? You are deterring people from praying for the suffering souls in purgatory. No the dead can't pray for the dead as in your example. But the living can pray for the dead. And prayers from the living are heard by God as you well know. So your example, is a poor example and harmful for those that have died because in that example both Lazarus and the beggar were both dead. Jesus sent a living God when he sent the Holy Spirit. He did not send a dead God.

On page 53 you stated that the word AMEN means "I believe". For your information AMEN means "Thy will be done" is why it is said after a prayer. We only want to ask God to do the things that are of his will. Not things of our will. You can believe whatever you want but if it is not the will of God it will not be done.

Then on page 53 you said Jesus said "He hates compromise....etc". Jesus HATES! It is my understanding that Jesus is all that is good and hate is not good. This sounds like your words.... Not Jesus'.

On page 287 you state "Don't tamper with the Book". Take your own advice, don't tamper with the book. If you have mislead one soul on any aspect of the revelation you have tampered with it. That is why you shouldn't tamper with it.

Let me give you something to think about "All of Time is Before God Continually". The Alpha and the Omega. Ever play chess? God is hoping you don't make the wrong move. But you know what? He already knows what move you will make. And he is there to pick you up when you do it. And you will be scolded, because God is a good Father. You better rethink that purgatory thing. One Christian to another Christian. Not one group to another group as you stated in your book. Your book implies that there is a war between Christians when you speak of other Christians as "Some Groups". This might be something else you might want to work on as a good Christian. Our words can defile us.

Summary: Sound Study of the Book of Revelation
Review: I read this book years ago and it is very thought provoking.
This book will encourage you, as it did me, to get back into Revelation and study for yourself the predictions that were made so long ago. You just have to look around at what has happened in this world, just over the last 50 years and see prophecy being fulfilled. Todays world is no exception to the rule.
This book turned my Agnostic husband to the cross about 30 years ago. This is an excellent book for christian and nonchristian alike.

Summary: No one is less qualified to examine Revelation than Hal
Review: I read this book years ago, and I've studied Revelation carefully on my own.

Sorry. I'm not buying this story that Revelation "predicts the future."

In Revelation, people are ruled by kings, practice slavery, ride horses, fight with swords and get attacked by mythological creatures. It sound more like the world of XENA than the kind of world we live in! I don't see how anyone could take this stuff seriously.

Summary: Great book!
Review: Not only has Hal Lindsey written a commentary that makes the Book of Revelation easier to understand than ever before, he also throws in touches that make it read like an adventure story! This is one of my favorite books!

Summary: A classic in the study of Revelation
Review: One of the first and still one of the best studies in Revelation, Lindsy's study is still well worth reading. If you're interested in a novel which explores these themes with intellegence and insight, I'd avoid Left Behind and instead, buy Brian Caldwell's We All Fall Down, the best novel on Revelation ever written.

Summary: not very good..
Review: The Lord only used hal once and wonderfully with, 'the late great planet earth' the rest of his outlines are horribly dry.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: There's A New World Coming Is an excellent Line by Line explanation and cometary of the Book of Revelation. It is a great book to help anyone who want's to understand the book of revelations btter. Hal does a nice job of tying in many of the Old and New Testaments Prophecies, with Revelations, so we get a cleaner picture of what the text means. Hal also try's to extrapolate how these prophecies may come true today, and what some of the more cryptic verses may mean. I would urge everyone to read this book, ill regardless of what there religious beliefs are, and look at the world around us. See how the world powers are lining up as predicted (Europe forming into a cohesive unit, Russia lining up with the Muslim Nations, China with an army of 200,000,000); see how the conditio of man is exactly as described of man at the end of this age (Lovers of pleasure, haters of God...); Seems like the Apostle John (And all the Bible Prophet's) Had it right over 2000 years ago.
