Rating: Summary: Stop blaming God!!! Review: God is NEVER the author of something that Jesus bore FOR us at Calvary. People need to stop blaming God for their weaknesses and handicaps. Paul's "thorn in the flesh" was a messenger from Satan, a fallen angel (demonic spirit), sent to hinder the Gospel from being preached! Why would God send Paul something to keep the Gospel from being preached to the world? My God is not the idiot that religious "sufferers-for-Jesus" have made Him out to be. God is NOT your problem, He's your answer!! God doesn't want you "suffering for Jesus".. He's wants you to be made whole... spirit, soul, and body. Yes, we may have to suffer persecution because we are believers, but it is NEVER the will of God for you to suffer sickness, disease, torment, pain, weakness, or some "disability". Jesus bore ALL of that for you 2,000 years ago and you do not need to go through it. The power of the living God can set you free! Do NOT "accept" what the devil has done in your life! Fight against it with the spoken Word of God - the Sword of the spirit! Read the literal translation of Isaiah 53:4,5. It says that Jesus bore our sicknesses, weaknesses, and pain FOR us!! Yes, that is all referring to the physical realm.. it's not just "spiritually" as some theologians have assumed. And it's not something that is for us way off in the future sometime, it is for us NOW. Praise God!
Rating: Summary: God is not guilty! Review: I would not recommend this book to anyone.
The way that religious people have taught on the subject of "the sovereignty of God" is complete heresy. The idea that "nothing can happen but what God wills or allows" has held more Christians in bondage than any other false teaching within the Church today.
If you are experiencing sickness, disease, poverty, physical pain, emotional pain, or a "handicap or disability".. it is because of either one of these two reasons: #1) You are facing the consequences of your own past decisions and believing... or #2) You are facing something that has been caused either directly by Satan, or simply because of the fact that we live in a fallen world that is full of sin and ungodliness.
You need to realize that you are redeemed from sin if you are a Christian. And if you are redeemed from sin, then you are also redeemed from the three-fold curse of the Law, which is sickness, poverty, and spiritual death. God would no more want one of His children to be sick or in poverty than He would want them to commit adultery or get drunk! Don't get mad at me over that statement. It's simply what the Word of God teaches. Jesus Christ bore your sin, sickness, disease, physical & emotional pain, and poverty all at the very same time at Calvary. To deny the finished work of Jesus Christ is to deny the Word of God and you may as well be slapping Jesus in His face!
Another thing that people need to understand is what the Word of God REALLY says about Paul's "thorn in the flesh". First of all, God is NOT the one who gave Paul a "thorn in the flesh". Second of all, God is NOT the author of ANY of your problems. The will of God is that it be on earth just as it is in heaven. Don't get mad at me over that statement either, because Jesus prayed that God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Is there any sin in heaven? No! So God doesn't want any here! Is there any sickness or disease in heaven? No! So God doesn't want any here! Is there any poverty in heaven? No! So God doesn't want any here!
I pray that your heart will be quickened and the eyes of your understanding will be enlightened by the knowledge of God's Word.

Rating: Summary: This book is so insightful Review: This book helped me so much in my understanding of why we suffer. Yes, Jesus bore our pain on the cross, but the Bible makes it clear that God uses painful kinds of circumstances to glorify himself. One only needs to read the book of Job to see that suffering IS often God's will (how much scarier to think that it's not--and that Satan is controlling much of our lives outside of God's will). Paul asked God, not Satan, to remove his thorn and God gently said no. This book will help you understand why, and help you to accept the thorns in your life as a way for God to refine you.
