Communism was to sweep the world, remember? Well, the year is almost 2005 and still no "rapture", no "doomsday". Lindsey has been so obviously wrong in every other book he wrote it seems laughable that anybody takes him seriously. Were he correct, the world would have ended and none of you would be reading this review. I ask, "why would anybody continue to read his work?"
As a teenager in the early 1980's, I used to read Hal Lindsey with awe. Now it's just pathetic that anybody could take any of his books seriously. Got a brain? Use it. Read a real book by Rene Guenon or Julius Evola. Even better, spend time reading "Science and Sanity" by Korzybski. Your brain will thank you.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: More end-times drivel Review: Hal Lindsey has once again written a book purporting to have the inside knowledge of the end of planet earth and the coming of the messiah. This book is basically a hodge-podge of earlier books, only Hal adapts and revises his prophecy according to changing geopolitical realities. Think of this book as another Late, Great Planet Earth but updated for the 21st century.
"Faith" continues with Hal's idolatry of Israel and his belief that it is a divine entity that serves as God's vessel on Earth. He also serves up the usual hate ideology that has proven to be so appealing to gullible Christians in previous books. Islam is reviled and slandered, though not at the intensity of "Everlasting Jihad."
The extensive use of Bible passages and quotes in "Faith" is supposed to "prove" the validity of Hal's predictions. In reality, so many things are taken out of context as to render them useless. The tendency to take metaphors and symbolism from the Bible and provide literal interpretations is rampant and irresponsible. This book is not true prophecy but rather another failed tome on the author's vision of end-times.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Hal Lindsey - Bible Teacher Who is More Than Prophecy Review: Hal Lindsey is arguably the best selling end-times, prophecy teacher in the world today. Probably only LaHaye and Jenkins with the "Left Behind" series are anywhere close. After a masterpiece book in 2002 describing the false religion of Islam and why 9/11 happened ("The Everlasting Hatred"), Hal has written a book that is more pastoral in character rather than the prophetic emphasis of most of his books. His new book, "Faith for Earth's Final Hours" is a re-write of his earlier book from 1986 called "Combat Faith." The lessons Lindsey teaches in this new book are no less important than his prophetic analyses over the years. Lindsey details that as the Earth roars towards Armageddon, true bible-believing Christians will endure greater and greater persecution for their beliefs. Such persecution has always been present in most of the world but Americans have been largely insulated from such threats. Lindsey believes American Christians may face tremendous growing persecution before the Rapture of the Church. It already has started. Bible-believing Christians are already becoming politically incorrect... even in evangelical churches which are now mostly wrapped up in the "seeker sensitive" heresy which throws away the preaching of sound doctrine and the true gospel because it is offensive to the visiting unchurched person. Hal's book goes through that faith is a skill developed over time by trusting God, despite circumstances, bad news, and trials. He describes in detail the wanderings of the Israelite people after the Exodus. These people kept seeing miracle after miracle from God, yet immediately turned back to materialism, unbelief, and false gods. ( A little like most christians in America of 2003 ??) The book concludes with an absolutely stunning explanation with 10 reasons why God allows trials in a christian's life. There are so many myths and bad teaching out there, even in "good" churches. I would encourage anyone going through an unexplainable trial to read Hal's lessons and the tremendous insights that will guide you to understand God's mysterious will. You will get teaching that is so sadly ignored by evangelical pastors because their entire focus is on bigger crowds, increased cash flow, and massive buildings. I highly recommend this easy-to-read, insightful book that shows Hal Lindsey is not merely a prophecy expert, but a loving pastor with the gift of comfort.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A great Book About Real Faith. Review: There are so many false bible teachers out in the world today preaching that if you have faith you will be rich and healthy all the time. Its so far from the truth the Bible teaches us. Their God is a great jack in a box in the sky who provides everything they want or desire (they are the ones wearing 1000s suits, Rolex watches and driving expensive cars with the money that poor people send em). Its a false teaching and is causing many to lose faith. It is great to see a Bible teacher Like Hal Lindsey come forth with a Bible based BOOK on faith. A real faith that can get us through all the trials that we face or will face. A faith that is also there in the good times as well. lets face it folk's; Times are perilous; AIDS, colds that kill like SCARS, Muslim terrorists trying to get Nukes, Biological and chemical weapons, Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Increasing and worsening weather patterns, earthquakes, and other natural phenomena getting worse, should convince all of us that we are in perilous times; And MUCH FAITH IS NEEDED. Hal's BOOK Faith For Earth's Final Hour will help you and I to practice faith each day (faithing) a real faith. Not only should you get a copy and read it, you should read it many times. It is also a great gift for any and everyone you love.
