Summary: Read this book!
Review: "The Way of the Master" is an updated version of Ray Comfort's book "Revival's Golden Key." It parallels in many spots the television series by Kirk and Ray, also called "The Way of the Master."

"The Way of the Master" includes several more up-to-date statistics, analogies, and anecdotes than the original, as well as more in-depth material on how to practically share the gospel, a short but good critique of the seeker-sensitive movement, and in general is much better than the original. RGK had barely any commentary by Kirk, and though again WoTM is primarily by Ray, Kirk offers much more advice in a practical and powerful manner.

With Puropose Driven Life and Prayer of Jabez, two quasi-Christian books that are in fact quite dangerous to the Church (despite the sincere hearts of the authors) being two of the most popular "Christian" books of our time, we need to get back to the basics, back to the Bible, and back to authentic first-century Christianity. The early Christians were all about two things: Loving God, and being the best and most effective witnesses for Christ they could. PDL and POJ aren't cutting it, but WoTM can and will, and it's got the ability to do that, if it can get out en masse to the public.

Read their book, visit their Web site (http://www.wayoftheMaster.com/), and watch their show, so that you can faithfully and effectively fulfill Ephesians 6:15 and Mark 16:15. Get it into your pastors hands, your friends hands, and your hands. If you have a concern for the lost, want to overcome your fear, or are simply curious about Mike Seaver the Bible-thumper, then READ THIS BOOK!

Summary: Not For The Weak At Heart
Review: "The Way of the Master" shows us that it isn't the "feel-good" gospel that creates new believers, but the power of the Law of God--when used properly--to bring unsaved sinners to the Savior.

I used to tell people that "God loves them and has a wonderful plan" for their lives. This book basically knocked me off my feet! Anyone who still uses the modern style of evangelism will only get false conversions--if they're lucky, one of every 200 or so will continue in the faith.

This book also challenges people in their daily walk to examine themselves to see if they are in the faith. Not for the faint at heart!

I plead for the body of Christ to read this book! It will change them forever! Next to the Bible, THIS is my favorite book!

Summary: One of the most exciting Christian books that I have read
Review: Have you ever noticed two simultaneous phenomenona - that evangelistic crusades produce many "converts" who cannot be found in church even a few months later, and that surveys show that many Americans consider themselves Christian and yet lead lives that do not reflect obedience to God? In this fascinating book, actor and lay Christian Kirk Cameron and Pastor Ray Comfort, examine the problem and give their diagnosis of what is going on. The evangelical church in America, has embraced a hermeneutic that tells the unconverted that "God has a plan for you," and "God wants you happy."

And, what has been the effect of this? "Converts" who have no concept of sin, who do not have the grounding that can take them through the hard parts of life that are certain to come. So, what is the solution? A total rethink of the way that Good News is preached, including the centrality of God's Law. This book starts out as a Why We Should Evangelize, becomes a What We Are Doing Wrong, and ends up as a How We Should Evangelize.

Overall, I found this to be a great book, one of the most exciting Christian books that I have read in a while! If you are a Christian who truly loves God, and want to know how to share your faith, then this is the book for you. I highly recommend this book to every Christian.

Summary: Good News isn't "Good" without the Bad News
Review: I am very impressed by this work. Preaching the Law must precede the Gospel of grace, and this book exposes the error-filled methods of today's milquetoast 'preachers' who entice with the call of love when they should be expounding first on the terrors of the Lord Almighty.

Spurgeon and Edwards would be happy with this effort, I believe.

Summary: Absolutely Incredible
Review: If you read one Christian book besides the Bible, make it this one.

"Wait - what did you say?"

That's right. This is the most important book you can read besides the Bible.

The heart of the Bible is the gospel, and this book discusses the ways in which the gospel has been twisted and explains how to get it back to its biblical basis.

This book is for you if you:

- Want to share your faith, but are afraid
- Want to share your faith, but don't know how
- Wonder why some people stay with their faith but others fall away
- Have ever thought there is something weird about the phrase "ask Jesus into your heart"
- Are not a Christian but want to know what Christianity is all about
- Are able to read

I have been avidly reading Scripture and theology books for a while now, but even with a great deal of knowledge, this book has opened my eyes and by God's grace enabled me to become a constantly bolder witness for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I absolutely cannot recommend it highly enough. This is the best money you will ever spend.

Review: Kirk and Ray made me stop and think here. I've read hundreds of Christian commentaries and this is one of the best.

Summary: Ray Comfort's Magnum Opus
Review: The author of "Hell's Best Kept Secret" presents this updated message for the Laodicean church of the 21st American religion. Comfort presents a stark image of present-day evangelism that ends up creating confusion, phony christians, and generally doing more harm than good. If the status quo believers refuse to repent, it will not be Comfort's fault. The method used by Jesus, the apostles, and great evangelists (like Spurgeon and Wesley) is the only remedy to the great evangelical disaster that is now upon us.

Summary: One book to get
Review: This book has changed my life dramatically! If you're considering buying a book about evangelism, whether you're timid, bold, new at all of this, an experienced preacher, this book is it! I recommend it by far over any other book on the subject!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Essential Reading!
Review: This book is probably the most foundational, and much needed book on salvation, conversion, and proper evangelism today. You can't get far into the book until you realize that the modern styles of trying to crank out decisions and more programs simply isn't working - and it's all backed up by statistics.

Besides that, Ray really uses down to earth logic to back up all of the hard-hitting Biblical points that he makes. This book is essential - required - for anyone who has any desire to ever lead a person to Christ.

Summary: The Gospel makes no sense without a realization of sin!
Review: This book is the centerpiece of Comfort's ministry to help Christians to share their faith. It must start with the Bible: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." That's from the book of James, quoting the prophet Isaiah. Think about that for a minute: If you are proud in anything, God is resisting you in that thing. If you are proud in your accomplishments, if you are pleased with what you have done on your own, if you think you're pretty good at something--God will RESIST being a part of those accomplishments. If you are proud in your political opinion, thinking that it is completely correct and that you are smart to figure it out--God will RESIST blessing your political efforts. If you are proud in your religion, preaching hate to others who aren't in it, or concerned more about being right than about God and others--God will RESIST being a part of your religious practice! Worst of all, if you are proud in your righteousness, if you think you are a good person, if you compare yourself to others and judge yourself good--God will RESIST bringing you to salvation!

Instead, if you look at your accomplishments and count them as total garbage (Phil 3:7-8) so that you may gain Christ, if you submit your political opinions to God's will and plan, if you seek him first ahead of particular practices or ordinances, and if you consider yourself a completely depraved, sinful wretch unworthy of any of God's glory (Rom 7, Mark 10, Is 64, Rom 3:9-20, countless other verses) he will give you grace! He will save you! He will lift you up!

The Gospel of Christ doesn't work on the proud--first, God must make them humble. How can we Christians be God's workers to do this? By helping the self-righteous ones around us to see their sin, to see how short of "good" they have come, to urge them to test themselves against God's law that they might realize their sin, become humble, and be driven to the cross to recieve the grace of God. Ray Comfort in this book lays out these Biblical principles that should be a huge wake-up call to the modern church--we've been doing it wrong for a hundred years!
