Summary: For Heretic Hunter's Only
Review: Actually, I've known a good bit about Graham for years, but this book really puts it in perspective, and Graham's own quotes tell what he really believes. Why is it that Graham gets invited to the White House no matter who the president is or what he believes, and what does Graham say about it? Why is it that Graham gets along so well with new ager Schuller of the Crystal Cathedral? Read Graham's quotes regarding same. And what did Graham say about how nature leads one to God? Amazing quotes and this is just a miniscule bit of what this book contains. Get it, read it, pass it on to friends. Billy Graham is not the great Christian preacher so many think he is. Excellent research, I'd recommend it to everyone.

Summary: A definite must-read!
Review: Dr. Burns does a great job exposing Billy Graham for what he is--a wolf in sheep's clothing. She also does a great job of exposing all his buddies. Jesus told His disciples that the world hated Him and would hate His disciples. So when you get someone as popular as Billy Graham, it's time to question what that person is about!

Summary: Billy Graham: The false prophet
Review: I purchased this book a while back and found the information well documented with plenty of footnotes.
I have read other material on Graham and they have made similar charges as this book, which leads me to believe Mrs Burns is correct in her research.
What Billy Graham has gotten away with for the last fifty years is amazing.
How could he get the backing of Rockefeller, William Randolph Hurst and other CHRIST HATERS?
How could he go into the former Soviet Union and speak while others have had to go under ground? Remember Bro. Andrew, who smuggled bibles into those countries only with Gods divine protection? Oh yea, when he left the Soviet Union he stated there was no persecution of Christians going on there! This left those Chistians crushed that had their hopes that he would tell the world about their treatment!
I know that a person is not necessarily guilty by association but, Graham has, through his actions if not his words endorsed so many unworthy characters.
How?
Read how his ecumenical leanings have swayed the protestant church ever more towards Roman Catholicism.
Read how Graham has allowed Catholic priests to work the altars.
Read how that after a person fills out the inquiry card towards the end of the service, many of those cards are sent to the Roman Catholic Church as well as other liberal churches. (Lambs to the slaughter?)
Read how he has shared his platform with the likes of Robert Schuller and Norman Vincent Peale. Schuller is a new ager and Peale was a 33 deg. mason and didn't even believe in the virgin birth among other Christian fundamentals! No wonder no Pastor in America, standing behind a pulpit would criticize these characters, because after all "Brother Graham" thinks they are just fine. What a tragedy!
I loaned this book to a couple of Christian friends of mine, just to see what they would say, one was a Baptist preacher. Sure enough, they wouldn't believe it. They wouldn't consider the possibility that maybe one of their own, could be a false prophet. Open your eyes Church and wake up!!

Summary: typical, but doesn't go far enough.
Review: I shouldn't expect much with any book advertised on the Chick web page, but, at 700 + pages, maybe I'd get something new? This book is not so much an expose on Graham, as it is an expose on everyone that Graham happened to bump into or shake hands with in his entire career. I suppose we should be thankful Graham didn't accidently tip Anton La Vey a quarter when La Vey was a carnival organist in the 40s! Then, we'd have to read how he is 'in league with Satanists and supports their cause'.

Still, the author points out some people who have much invested in Graham's success: why would Hearst want to promote Graham back in his early days? Why did John Foster Dulles wish to promote Graham? Or Henry Luce? Or Rockefeller? Why do all these people, whose private religious views may, or may not, clash with Graham's fundamentalism, support him? What do they have to gain by him? That's fascinating material to research! Unfortunately, Burns never gets into the 'why', just the 'who'. If she got into the 'why', she'd have to reveal how fundamentalism, of the Christian America bent, is the best friend third world dictators ever had. Then, she'd have to seriously re-think her religious views.

A better recommendation would be: THY WILL BE DONE by Gerard Colby or the movie, THE MOSQUITO COAST for a great scene of mesmerized natives watching a videotape of a missionary in rapt silence! There is a dark side to the Graham mystique worthy of Oliver Stone treatment, but Burns is too busy shining flashlights on his shadow to capture it.

Summary: "The Good That Men Do..."
Review: Ms. Burns casts stones on a large number of people and organizations who have done a great deal of good in our world which certainly hungers for the kindness and generousity of others. I wonder what kind of book Ms. Burns would have written if she had been searching for the goodness in Billy Graham and his friends? How uplifting and inspirational the exact opposite of the book Ms. Burns wrote would be.

About your book, my global comment is: Is that so, Ms. Burns?

Summary: Take No Prisoners
Review: This book would have been better if Dr. Burns would have made it shorter. This book attacks anyone and everyone; if it moves shoot it! She goes to great lengths to unmask cursory associates and then shows how through a long series of associations they make their way back to Graham. Yes, Graham is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It would have been more effective if this book had talked about Graham's actual activities and the Billy Graham Evangelical Association. That would have been more than compelling rather than 700+ pages that few have the time to read.
