Summary: Ponder these thoughts...
Review: when considering what bible version gets the last say when comparing translation differences so that you are able to make an informed decision about buying this top-of-the line bible:

Given the fact that all of the original manuscripts of scripture no longer exist and that all manuscripts are copies of copies, ask yourself this question:
"Does having the earliest copy of anything guarantee that it is going to be more reliable than a more recent copy?" If you say, "yes," then what is the logic? If you say, "no," then you can understand that a copy will always be only a copy of the original (thereby containing the possible risk of being corrupted) and only the original can be authentic (pure) along with whatever copies are based on it.

Given the facts that: God does not lie, the Bible warns against adding to or taking away from the word of God, and there are phrases contained in the Textus Receptus that are not contained in the Critical Text, this then makes the Textus Receptus God's word (which the KJV is based upon) OR the Critical Text God's word (incorporated into the modern translations). Keep in mind how subtly Satan twists around what God says (or doesn't say) and what the consequences are.

What should be thought through when reading statements like,
"The translators of the Authorised KJV had only very late and few manuscripts to translate from, as the earliset manuscripts were not yet discovered," is that there might be a different reason for why the translators used later and fewer manuscripts to translate from (other than the lack of "discovering" early ones). How could God have accomplished the greatest acts of reformation in history using an inferior version (as the KJV is claimed to be by most people)? Why is it that now with all the modern versions around, there are more Christian denominations (different doctrines) and confusion than ever before? Another critical aspect to not ignore is the integrity of the people involved who worked on the translations.

Needless to say, because the above information is so massive and debatable, Amazon.com is not the place to get into that. We are responsible to do our own homework.

All reviews are helpful if the information causes one to think more carefully. For example, with this bible I wondered why the words of Christ were not in red in the book of Revelation. What should have been made more clear is that it is only the words of Christ audibly heard in His physical presence (direct; no "mediator") that are in red. Christ's words were left in black text in the book of Revelation because all the words in that book were sent by God's angel to John for God's servants. It doesn't mean Christ's words in black text are less important than those in red.

After having compared most of the rest, it's this version I've find to be the best. No doubt it's one of the most difficult to read and understand, but we should agree that God's word shouldn't be "dumbed" down to accomodate the less studious. For many generations, the King James Version was sufficient to regenerate souls. Now in our age of instant information, there is no excuse for basing bible study upon blemished sacrificies of time and devotion. This particular bible being made of the highest quality materials is a reminder of how God is glorified when nothing but the best is used in service for Him. Not only do you notice this in the print quality of this book, but also you're kept aware of the highest standards through the feel of it's texture and sweet scent of sacrifice even the goat made in providing its skin to cover and bind truth in its purity!
