Summary: If I had to live on a deserted island the rest of my life...
Review: .. and could only take 5 books with me, this would be one of them. I am an avid reader, consuming books I love, tossing out those I find less than great. This one tops all the books in the genre of spiritual romance.

The other reviewers (below) have done a good job of telling the storyline so I won't repeat it.

By the way, while a sequel, this book still stands alone. The first book, A Rush of Wings, is also quite good and will help you understand the characters in The Still of Night. But don't be afraid to jump straight into Still Of Night..... although if you read one, I'm betting you will read the other.

Enjoy this great book!

Summary: Too realistic to be fiction
Review: Great writing. I couldn't put the book down. But very real and a little too close to home. It really makes you think. You'll definitely need tissue if you read this book.

Summary: Great chemistry - excellent book!
Review: I had read the prequel to this book (A Rush of Wings) and thought it was just okay. I almost didn't want to read this book because of that but I'm sure glad I gave it a chance because I really enjoyed this book! There was tons of chemistry between the main characters, Morgan and Jill. Morgan was just an extremely well written character. A book I didn't want to put down and I was bummed when I came to the end.

Summary: A real tear jerker
Review: I love Kristen's books!! She is one of my favorite authors. Even though I had an idea how this story was going to end, I loved the journey. The story is incredible and very emotional at times. I couldn't help at times wanting for her daughter to live, but it re-emphasized the fact that we can't always have what we want or pray for. However the ending was beautiful and I highly recommend reading this book. Make sure you have the tissues handy!!

Summary: Liked it, didn't love it....
Review: I loved the prequel to this book, and had high expectations for this one, since Morgan is the BEST hero ever, and the premise sounded terrific. I love reuinion stories, and this one had the makings for something really great. I was disappointed because it wasn't really a love story at all....this was a book about the course of an illness and the chaos/hope/redemption it can bring to the family of a profoundly ill person. The love story was an after-thought....not developed, and not very interesting. Frankly, there was more chemistry between Morgan & Noelle than between Morgan & Jill.

One other thing really bothered me: I thought the book was a little preachy about people who give up their children for adoption. I don't think these are the author's views....but throughout the book Morgan is very angry and contemptuous toward anyone who could "give up a baby to a STRANGER." He never wavers from this conviction, even at the end. Frankly, for a teenaged girl to carry a pregnancy to term and then place the baby in a loving, stable, two-parent home is the most selfless act of love imaginable.....yet Jill beats herself up for having done it, and Morgan seems convinced that only people who don't love their baby would do this. I can't disagree strongly enough, and hope it doesn't influence girls in trouble (or their well-meaning family members) to believe in the fallacy that love is enough to raise a baby, despite the absence of a stable home.

Still, it was a tender, poignant book, with great characters. I hope I'm not being too harsh because I wanted the book to be about something it wasn't.....

Summary: An ok book
Review: This book was pretty good. I didn't like it as much as the first one- A Rush of Wings which was much better but I am glad she made a sequel so we could find out about the second brother-Morgan. This book is sad so bring a box of tissues with you when you read it!

Summary: A touching story of choices, secrets and love.
Review: This is the sequel to Kristen's book ""A Rush of Wings." First, I will say that I highly recommend reading that book first as it lays the foundation for how you will regard the main character, Morgan Spencer, and the pain certain decisions left him with and how he coped with them over the last fifteen years. After reading the first book, Morgan had me baffled, he is a very complex character that I adored and I couldn't wait to follow his path in life.
It would do a terrible diservice to any potential readers if any reviewer reveals the beautiful plot twists in their review because this book has one that is touchingly powerful. The characters in this book are fabulous, they are real, they make real mistakes, and they have to grow through the consequences and it doesn't happen in one "Bubble Gum Sweet Moment" that happens in a lot of Christian fiction. I read this book in one sitting, and almost missed a very touching and very real confession (on about page 289 by Jill) because I was too interested in finding out what happens. I had to go back and read that part in particular and was thrilled that Heitzmann included it and it solidified her in my mind as a master storyteller. Heitzmann also give you some closure on the characters from "A Rush of Wings." The Spencer brothers are my ALL time favorite male characters in Christian fiction and I appreciated seeing how Rick was doing a year later. If you read books to meet the characters, to fall in love with them and to walk with them on their journey in life then you will love this book. To top off the quality of characters it has a plot that is not only touching but exciting which is a combination often hard to find. I have never seen a plot in Christian fiction similar and the diversity was enjoyable. A good all around read, tissues and all. I hope to see more from Heitzmann on the Spencer family maybe the younger sisters?

Summary: No one sentence can define this book
Review: This sequel, Morgan's story, is so intense, so full of emotions that at times I was not sure I could even finish it although at the same time I knew I just HAD to. Kristen does a great job weaving the pain, the guilt and hopes each biological parent have for their daughter, Kelsey. One cannot read this book without understanding real, true Christianity and ministry as modeled by a very, very acutely sick little girl. Quite honestly, words do not do this story justice. Depth of emotions are plainly spelled out by the author and she leaves no questions as to how the main characters really feel. Superb job Kristen, but almost too close to home.
