Review: DEEP HARBOR is a place of refuge and that's what Lisa Tawn Bergren has created in this second series book following THE CAPTAIN'S BRIDE. Tora and Elsa and Katjaa and the men they love and wound -- who return the emotions; their children and mothers and fathers and friends are all characters who struggle, who deal with the joys and losses of life, who come to terms with who they are spiritually and as members of families. Readers can find themselves inside this story, well-written in a fast pace that both satisfies and leaves the reader hungering for more. Next year! That's the only trouble with a series book! But we can count on Lisa Bergren to deliver on time!

I have many of her books, which I have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy (because they are keepers) but as a widow, I've been truly blessed by the Northern Lights Series and Until the Shadows Flee. Summary: Best yet from Lisa Tawn Bergren!
Review: I just finished reading DEEP HARBOR. It truly is my favorite of all Lisa Tawn Bergren's works. Her contemporaries are superb, but her historicals are magnificent! I love the way I can settle into the world she has created with her Northern Lights series. The only problem is that I've wanted both CAPTAIN'S BRIDE and DEEP HARBOR to last forever. Hooray, Ms. Bergren! Keep writing! I can't wait for number three!

Review: If you have read The Captain's Bride then this is a MUST READ! It continues the story of Peder and Elsa, Karl, Tora and all those you learned about in the first book. The book is so full of real like characters that you feel their pain and their joys. Lisa Tawn Bergren has done it once again. I'm looking forward to Book 3 due out next spring.

You don't know what's going to happen next, and when it happens you're saying "This can't be happening! She can't do that!" Yet with all the plot, Lisa Bergren still is able to weave in a powerful message about Jesus Christ.
