She has a good balance of Scriptures in dealing with difficult issues facing all those who work with young people today, there is something in this book for Pastors, educators, School officials, and parents alike. A must read!
Rating: Summary: Teachers, we all need to read this book! Review: As a teacher who works with middle and high school children, this book was an informative and cutting edge resource. Never before have I been able to find the correct answers to this serious problem. This book delivers those answers we have all been looking for.
Rating: Summary: A Must read for all parents of teens or pre-teens! Review: Finally a book that answers the questions "why does this happen?" and "how can we stop it from happening again?"As a parent of teens, I am very concerned with all of the violent acts occuring at school. It terrifies me to think that my child could be a victim or, God forbid, be the one commiting one of these terrible acts. This is the first book that I have found that gives difinitave answers and comprehensive training for me to be able to understand and deal with violence with my teenager.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books dealing with kids and violence Review: Hurrah for Dr. Mintle! Finally someone willing to address the tough questions of how we as a society and individual families can tackle the problem in both our home and our community. Dr. Mintle lends great insight to a growing American problem. She approaches the issues with knowledge, sensitivity and an obvious background in the subject.
Rating: Summary: Finally, real help for a real epidemic! Review: It's obvious Dr. Mintle really knows her material. Tragically this is one topic no parent or teacher can afford to ignore. It seems like many heads are hidden in proverbial sand these days. Maybe once school starts up again this book will be hard to find. Glad I got mine now!
Rating: Summary: Scarey Headlines...Great Book! Review: Seems like the more news about kids killing other kids hits our TVs and newspapers, the less the so-called experts are able to explain it all away. This book, and Dr.Linda finally make sense. There are reasons why this is all happening, and there are solutions. I liked especially the section on how to protect your kids through interaction with the public school officials, but mostly through involved parents. Since Columbine last year, what Dr.Linda observes about school violence has been confirmed over and over. Amazing understanding.
Rating: Summary: The Ultimate Bottom-Feeder? Review: The victims hadn't even turned cold in the Jeffco morgue when Dr. Mintle began "mining" the killing fields of Columbine. Most of what we "knew" back then is now known to be false, and that discredits the book (both in terms of shoddy research and its conclusion) in its entirety. This book took three or four weeks to get to market ... and it shows. The funniest part of the book was the end, where she stumbled around the edges of "generational curses." Any semblance of professional clinical analysis was at that point obliterated.

Rating: Summary: Great Book for parents of teenagers Review: This is a great, positive resource for parents to respond to the issue of teen violence. Dr. Mintle has some keen insights into the issue, and comes at them from a Christian perspective. This book is an absolute must for parents of teenagers, youth pastors or leaders, and high school teachers and principals who are concerned about teen violence.
