Rating: Summary: Wise words Review: I am surprised that no one has reviewed this book. It is actually very good and I only wish that more people would read it. Especially in a day and age where we read in the media of school shootings and spousal abuse and other anger related issues.Anger can be controlled, like any negative behavior. Our elders knew that teaching self discipline is what kept a child from becoming and adult with self destructive behavior. This is what Dr Lahaye tries to get across to the reader. It is also a Biblically sound book in my opinion. I would only add that media and how we allow it into our lives also plays a big role in teaching our children and we as adults, what is acceptable, but not always wise or G~odly. It is a good read. And it is a book that non-christians might find some value in. I did.
Rating: Summary: Life Changing! Review: I have struggled with anger from the time I was a child. It's to the point now where I am desperate for change. It was that desperation that caused me to pick up this book. I loved the way the authors used real life examples and charts and diagrams. I also got so much out of the self-tests. The section on temperment was very eye opening for my personally. I definitely found my own temperment. But most of all, this book not only gives hope of real change, it lays out a process of getting there. The problem is neither quick nor easy, but it is possible. I recommend this book to anyone, Christian or not who has struggled with anger. I've read several books on the subject and this is one of the best books out there. It does not just deal with the symptoms of anger, but helps you get to the root cause of your anger. This is one book that I know I will refer to time and time again.
