Summary: Much clearer than his first book!
Review: I read Josh's first book, "I Kissed Dating Goodbye," and tossed it. At age 30-something, the idea of mass dating in groups sounded like a waste of time. I saw the great possibilities of his ideas for high schoolers, but for those of us past the stage of learning how to relate to the opposite sex as brothers and sisters in Christ, we needed a game plan for how to move to the next level. Josh Harris provides that in "Boy Meets Girl." This is a blueprint to follow as you begin to seriously look for a lifemate. The only criticism I have is that I wish that his wife, Shannon, had told more of her side of the story. At the beginning, we hear about her in tears over her confusion about the relationship, but we never hear how she dealt with it. I'm hoping she'll write her own book soon. Still, BMG is an EXCELLENT handbook for Christians trying to navigate the murky waters of singleness!

Summary: You Get a Book & A CD!
Review: I gave this book one star because I wrote it and didn't want to "hype" my own book!

But now that I've had my mandatory display of false humility, let me tell you about this new version of Boy Meets Girl. It comes with a killer-CD featuring the song "Wait for Me" by my friend Rebecca St. James. If you haven't heard it, it's a beautiful song written to her future husband..."darling"...that she's still waiting for.

But wait....there's more! The CD also features video footage. Pop it in your computer and BOOM you've got me and Rebecca talking at ya. My favorite part is that it features the movie adaption of "The Room", the dream I share about in I Kissed Dating Goodbye. You've probably had this dream emailed to you by someone. I hope you like the mini-movie we made of it.

So if you don't already have Boy Meets Girl, this is a great time to get it. If you already have it, buy the CD version and give your old copy to a friend.

Thanks for reading my "hype".

Your friend, Joshua

Summary: I Was Blessed!!
Review: Thank you for writing another terrific book! I can't wait to put the information in the book to use. I'm still waiting on God's timing for that! I really appreciated how you emphasized serving each other and how trying to lead each other on was cruel temptation. I never looked at it that way before. It also blessed me that you waited until the alter to have your first kiss--how ideal!

Thanks again for your wonderful insight and direction! I hope and pray you and Shannon are doing wonderful! God bless you both!

Summary: Another Heart Felt Look into Dating, Love, and God
Review: Joshua Harris has done it again. His book I Kissed Dating Goodbye was an excellent look at why Christians should avoid the dating patterns of the world. This book gives helpful insight into how Christians should date/court once they decide that they are ready for commitment. Too often I have seen the failure of relationships due to sin, selfishness, and pride. Josh's book gives guidelines and helpful advice to prevent such tragedies from occuring. Josh tries to keep the focus on God and uses practical stories from his life and the lives of those around him to bring principals to life.

Summary: Could be better.
Review: A great example of a godly romance, but Harris fails to realize that his situation cannot be applied to everyone else. He barely give lip service to the fact that different situations will dictate different approaches.

Summary: Could be Better
Review: A good book detailing his personal experience. I learned a lot from it. However, I wish he would have made more of an effort to say that these are his own personal views and that, in reality, each person's love story is going to look different. Though he tends to take a more singular approach, most young singles can still glean good insight from this book, if they make the effort of being an active reader.

Summary: Confirmation
Review: I had read IKDG, and while I agreed with some of Josh's points, I wasn't sold on everything he set out. When my boyfriend and I were in a local bookstore, he made me promise that we would read any non-fiction books I bought to each other. _Boy Meets Girl_ was one of the books I bought - and if you're in a relationship and your significant other is willing, I highly recommend reading it to each other. We had the opportunity to stop and discuss different points that were raised - and we discovered that, because of God's leading, we were already doing a lot of what Josh recommended. I appreciate Josh's (and Shannon's!) willingness to open their lives to so broad an audience. My boyfriend and I have already been told by many that they are impacted by the relationship we have. Josh's sequel encourages couples to run all-out for God, with side glances at the person running next to you. Keep the focus of the relationship where it belongs - on God. Highly, highly recommended.

Summary: A Sequel That Was Worth Waiting For.
Review: Mr. Harris has out done himself again! Harris' sophomore attempt was unbelievably more fantastic than his first book "I Kissed Dating Goodbye". This book was a delightful tail of how he met and courted his wife. He talks about struggles that many Christian couples face and how they (he and his wife) were able to over come them with the help of God. "Boy Meets Girl" is structured similarly to IKDG and was a pleasure and joy to read. I look forward to more books from the Harris's in the future.

Summary: Hold the fishbowl :)
Review: hi. i was recently doing a project on Christian Marriage, and i read "Boy meets Girl". WOW! sucha good book! i've had dodgy moral foundations in past relationships and heart posture, but this book changed my heart and mind to the will of God. Harris outlines and defines God's heart for marriage and relationships through the bible, stories and experience. it is extremely well written, very useful and fun to read! it's not just a book for those presently in a relationship, but one for those who are dreaming of their future and want that future to glorify God. This book has totally changed my perspective on courtship and marriage, for the better! Rad. -LA

Summary: SOUND ADVICE
Review: I must admit I wasn't all impressed by " Kissed Dating Goodbye" However this book gives great advice I would recommend it to any Believer who is in a relationship or is wondering how to go about a relationship. It has helped me to put more emphasis on the friendships that I have with women than to pursue romance hastily. I will personally be teaching a bible study on Dating & Courtship this Spring on this book. A must buy
