Rating: Summary: Better than the first... Review: I have to admit, Josh's first book didn't fit me, but it made me think. This book did more than just make me think, it made me change the way I look at women altogether! Josh's style of writing is very good, and kept me drawn to the principles he was discussing. I see this book as being good for the person in early college, and not earlier than that. After all, people in high school defniately aren't ready to get married. Neither are most college students, but they're closer.Even if you didn't like I Kissed Dating Goodbye, read this book. It will change the way you percieve relationships.
Rating: Summary: Very refreshing and delightful Review: Boy meets girl is a wonderful book to read even if you're not ready for courting. But tells you how to build realtionships on solid friendships that are grounded in the Bible. As a teenager I found it so wonderful to know that God has everything planned and that I don't have to worry about anything. God has my marriage planned and that it is totally in his hands. It gives practical advice if you are not intrested in pursuing short-term, frivilous crushes. But want friendships that will give you something much deeper.
Rating: Summary: Girls and Boys is a great teaching tool for young adults Review: I really enjoyed Josh Harris's new book. I thought nothing could get better than IKDG, but I was wrong. This book tells the beautiful story of Josh and Shannon's courtship and marriage. They give guidelines to follow in a Christian courtship and really make you start to want to follow them because you want the same type of love story, one that is written by God
Rating: Summary: Joshua does it again! Review: I consider this book very well-writen and well-put. Josh knows what he's talking about! I hope God leads me in a similar way that He led Mr. Harris. His definition of courtship is preferable over dating.
Rating: Summary: Special Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Harris! Review: I have to say I'm not much of a reader but this book is wonderful. I found myself not wanting to put this book down. I wish I had this book 20 years ago. After two painful divorces this book helps me immensely to see what it was I have done wrong in the past. This book truly is a blessing. Had I had this book, 2 woman and myself may have avoided a lot of heartache, I believe. I am going to read this book over and over, highlighting and making notes so as to learn from it. I have two unmarried daughters and they are each getting a copy of Boy Meets Girl for Christmas. This should be required reading for all thinking about marriage. It certainly would help eliminate mistakes. I pray the Lord blesses Joshua and Shannon Harris ten-fold for the blessing they has been to all of us!
Rating: Summary: Good book, but not too down to earth... Review: Okay I bought this book because I was looking for some advice on dating, Harris says that christians shouldn't practice "dating" instead he referred to "courting". The book is interesting, but it's somehow difficult to comprehend nowadays that everyone you go out with is a potential candidate for marriage, so I think Mr. Harris loses the point there. However the book is a pretty good resource on how to keep a relationship according to christian principles. How to develop a potential bond that could leave to marriage if both parts agreed. It's a good book if you want info on how to develop a christian love relationship with someone, but not good on giving you the inside on actually "how to date/court" nowadays.
Rating: Summary: Boy Meets Girl met my needs Review: This book is really incredible! It's like Josh Harris got inside my head and knew how to speak to my heart. His book has given me a lot of insight to things I've been pondering about relationships. I recommend it to any single person that is searching for "that special someone".
Rating: Summary: Godly wisdom has been demonstrated once again Review: Joshua Harris has proven once again that he is a sincere follower of Christ who desires to follow God with all of his heart, soul, and mind. He has also proven that he has what it takes to write a good story. Joshua Harris kept my attention throughout the whole book. I appreciated his writing style and the message which he brought forth. I believe that God has granted this young man wisdom beyond his years. I deeply appreciate his desire to share with the rest of the world what he has learned and applied to his own life. Very good book, should be required for any single person 18-60 years of age.
Rating: Summary: Redundancy Alert! Review: I've read "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" as well as "Boy Meets Girl," and my conclusion is that they are both the same book. Well, almost. I liked a lot of Josh Harris's first book. He offered some good godly wisdom in "Dating," and he offers some in "BMG" as well, but he doesn't really say anything new. So I recommend that you either read one or the other, but don't waste your time reading "BMG" if you've already read "Dating."
Rating: Summary: God pleasing Review: this book has a lot of strong christian values when it comes to viewing your significant other as closer than a friend yet not put before God. In other words it is showing use how to control our earthly emotions and keep God in our view all the way through our relationship.
