Review: This book is not just for girls. It is for anyone who wants to know God's plan for how men and women should live. Using a biblical basis, Bevere explains how the unmarried and married should conduct themselves. She also shows how women undergo the most adverse consequences when the women-can-act-just-like-the-wild-men-can-act ideology is promoted. She addresses issues such as abuse, promiscuity, chastity, and marriage.

Review: This book might be good for women who have taken a very defensive and negative view of sex,but for a woman actually struggling with strong sexual needs and desires,it falls short.
First off,the entire premise is the girl or woman as a defender of virtue and she is the gate keeper.An over used term among the mislead far right.It is also stressed in this book that somehow only women have some inborn restraint and men have to be held back,because they are somehow innately aggressive and do first and think later.There aren't any suggestions as to what to do when you feel lust and desire,only this option that women do everything including sex for love.What about the men who cry after a relationship gone bad? They exsist,because individuals exsist.A man can feel used while a woman might have used the man for sex.I find myself struggling with the images of the whore/madonna complex again.Where in this book is a woman seen as a sexual being? I couldn't find any sure evidence.Only the same dribble about women having all these "feelings" and all these bonding hormones.The whole idea is to keep women feeling weak and sexless,in order to keep them at a lower place than the male.Sterotypical without any room for individuals.

Summary: Best book a woman will ever read besides the bible
Review: This book was life changing! I am 19 and have been through a lot of what this book is talking about. Lisa Bevere who is an amazing writer has also been through sexual misfortunes, giving away herself too soon, and overcoming the ideal image of a woman. Not only does it give you an in depth look of what the bible has to say about how women should be, it gives you Jesus's perspective on women as his bride. I was amazed and captivated by the stories in this book, it left me wanting to remiain pure for God and my future husband. This book will help mend any brokeness a girl could ever have from being used in any sexual way in her life. This book didnt condem girls for their sexual past, it showed how God wants to help us, and how he is our prince that will redeam us from our past. I cannot say enough about this book. I am 19, and wish every other girl my age could read this. I hope there are mothers out there that will buy this for their 13 year old to 90 year old daughters. This will go in the top 5 books I have ever read. I will def re purchase over and over to give as gifts to friends. Women who have been hurt by, abused by, or given in to sexual ways you must read this it will heal your heart.!

Review: Throughout the book she makes it sound as though people in this
day and age should still be living their lives with all the
double standards and sterotypes of the 50's.In her view a girl
only has a "reputation" as though it's more important than a
girl's education,career goals or opinions.Then there's the old
"a boy will respect you more if you wait" as though a girl is
sexless and only gives sex to get love.,well this is what she
believes,,she believes women and girls are emotionally driven
rather than sexually,so she works on the premise throughout the
book.How can it help any girl to read about herself as a
victim?,not! If your girl is being tempted by sex,chances are
she is not acting out from wanting love but rather from wanting
sex.She makes it sound as though every woman and girl is a
walking time bomb for emotional trauma and pain from having
sex.It's time women and girls stopped thinking of themselves
as emotional and relational,and started to think of themselves
as sexual and strong..then take it from there,,
