Rating: Summary: Does Tom have a single, younger brother? Review: ...i'd like to play matchmaker with him and my older duaghter!Yes, the characterization was that real.!I felt like I was reading about well-known friends. Along with Callie, the reader could really fall in love with Tom, too. The realism extends to Callies' actions, as well. I was actually paddling in that canoe with her, my muscles aching with hers. When she was struggling with the "bad guys", I was fighting along with her. I love the setting - of the Chesapeake Bay, eastern shore area. The front cover shows a famous, local crab house, where my family dined one afternoon. I can almost smell those cooked crabs again... Thanks again, to Mindy and Callie You never know what to expect with a sequel, (remember the Crocodile Dundee movie?), but you two just get better and better.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Read! Review: It is rare that an author writes a 2nd book in a series that is just as good or better than the first. I found this book to be page turning and enjoyable. And the ending was a real surprise too!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Read! Review: It's not often the 2nd book in a series is as good as the first, but I have to say that I absoulutely loved this one better than the first, and the first book was great too! Not only does Mindy Clark do a great job with her character profiles/backgroud but it makes you feel like you know them and are with them while the story unfolds. I found myself at times talking to them ( the characters). In this book, Callie not only works on another murder mystery, but she also is going through some personal feelings and changes. Her boss, Tom, is and enigma to me and there are a few nuggets of info on him that keep you guessing just what is up with him. I am so hoping in the next book that Mindy will give us some more details on him. Mindy's books both the first in this series ( A Penny For Your Thoughts) and Don't Take any Wooden Nickels are really, really hard to put down. Enjoy them. I know I sure did.
Rating: Summary: Well Written; Suspenseful! Review: Mindy Starns Clark is proving to be a gifted writer. In her second in The Million Dollar Mysteries series, Ms. Clark once again shows her talent for character development, as well as "edge-of-your-seat" suspense! The characters are believable and well rounded. The storyline is at once credible and riveting. Although it helps to have read the first book in the series, it's not necessary. It doesn't take long to make a connection to Callie Webber, the book's main character. She is a woman of faith - strong, yet vulnerable at the same time. I look forward to book three in the series and to other future books by this author.

Rating: Summary: Terrifically Suspenseful read... Review: What a wonderful book, I couldn't put it down. I spent the weekend on vacation and all I wanted to do was keep reading my book. Some Christian fiction books I read you know the ending by the 3rd chapter but not with Mindy Starns Clark. I didn't realize this was a series at first so I started with this book but I'm going back and getting the first one, A Penny for Your Thoughts. Wonderful writing, and I've read a lot of Christian Fiction.

Rating: Summary: Take This Book for a Great Read Review: When Callie Webber is in her home town on the Chesapeake, she volunteers with Advancing Attire, a non-profit that helps poor women get started in office jobs, mainly by providing appropriate clothes. Callie's latest client is Shayna. When Shayna calls that afternoon, she's upset because her boyfriend, Eddie, is missing. When they do find Eddie, he's dead in the trunk of Shayna's car. Now Callie's unexpected week off has become quite full. With the police naturally focusing their attention on Shayna, Callie must find evidence that proves this young woman is innocent. When she does find something, it leads her to something she never would have imagined, and more danger then she can handle alone. Meanwhile, Callie is also investigating a national non-profit that claims it will help Advancing Attire expand its office space. And she' trying to deal with disappointment from not getting to meet her mysterious boss, Tom.
Like the first book, this one starts slow. It steadily gains speed and by the climax, it's impossible to put down. Even before then, the writing style draws the reader in and makes it easy to get caught up in the story and sub-plots. Callie really grows in this book as she is forced to face the isolation she's placed herself in after the death of her husband. And, while I saw the final scene coming long before I got there, I couldn't help but smile as I read it.
I am quite taken with this series and will be reading book three as soon as I can get my hands on it.
