Rating: Summary: wonderful, wonderful reading for all ages Review: I am now on the third in the series, Nicolea and I can hardly put it down! This series may be fiction but it has really helped me understand the book of Revelation which is a very hard book of the bible to understand. Jesus is Lord and I look forward to the Rapture of the saints! God Bless you all
Rating: Summary: The book made apocalyptic prophesy real to me! Review: Yes, I know it's just the authors' interpretation of biblical apocalyptic writings. But after years of trying to relate to first-century symbolism, as well as the wierd imagery of the Book of Daniel, trying to feed my faith with stories of multi-headed monsters, fire-breathing preachers, dragons and beasts, it's so refreshing to read something I can really relate to! I've read the first 2 and plan to read them all. No, it may not happen exactly like this, but for the first time I can picture myself in a world where it's happening. The book raptured my interest from beginning to end!
Rating: Summary: This book can change your life and/or strengthen your faith. Review: I'm a Christian myself but had a very weak faith until I read this book. Then it got me thinking, why am I living like I am? Why aren't I out there trying to reach people. If you're a Christian, you must read this book. It goes along perfectly with the most popular translation of the end times prophecies. If you're not a Christian, it's still an excellent book that you won't regret reading. It seems many others reviewing this book don't think it's very P.C. because completely disregards any other religions. Well, that's what God does. Christianity is a very exclusive religion that leaves no room for appreciating and accepting other religions. The authors are Christians and that's what they believe. Just keep that in mind when reading and please do listen to the message they present. All in all, it's a great book.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Witness!! Simply could not put it down! Review: I have to date read all five of the Left Behind series books, and find them to be wonderfully compelling. Althought fiction, the "take away" message from Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim F. LaHaye is simply the gospel. They present a number of opportunities for the non-beliver to take a closer look at Biblical prophecy. Of course they present Christianity as the only true religion! That is what the authors believe(in response to another review). Their combination of fiction and Biblical prophecy is truly astounding. They made me pick up my Bible and really study the book of Revelations. I would recommend this book, no this series to every living person on this planet!
Rating: Summary: I was hooked! Review: I read Left Behind in 3 days-no small feat considering I barely even have enough time to do homework! I was hooked with the concept from the very beginning and am now in the second book.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: I started this book on a Friday and finished it on the following Monday. I could not put it down. The characters were well developed, I felt Rays anguish as he came to realize that he would not be going home to his wife. I cant wait to read the rest of the series.
Rating: Summary: A good story, but. . . Review: I thought this was a pretty good read, but in all honesty, it doesn't have the ring of authenticity I'd like to have seen. If you want to read a far more credible and thrilling judgment day thriller, let me suggest the novel, THE LAST DAY, by Glenn Kleier. That book will put the fear of God in the staunchest atheist! It has a story to make the hairs stand up on the back of your head and a totally unexpected ending that is as uplifting as it is inspiring. A powerful message.
Rating: Summary: This series can change your life, and entertain you at once! Review: I stumbled upon this series and it is truly worth giving it a try. After a few awkward chapters in the beginning Lahaye and Jenkins begin to introduce concepts and characters in such a way that one finds it hard to put down. After buying the book I found myself addicted to the rest of the series. The book combines fast and powerful adventure with spiritual lessons. It will make you look really hard at who you are. If your wanting to find a book that will keep you waiting for more and help you learn about God's plan, this book is definitely for you!!
Rating: Summary: A well written page turner, but beware! Review: Left Behind is a well written piece of fiction. The authors leave you wanting more at the end of every chapter, and at the end of the whole novel. But, reader beware! This book clearly shows the authors' belief that Christianity is the ONLY religion, and makes no apologies for that belief. If you can read the book as a well written, suspenseful piece of fiction, then go ahead, you're sure to enjoy it. If not, you'll only be annoyed with the preachiness of the content, not to mention the complete lack of acknowledgement of other religions.
Rating: Summary: A full five alarm wake-up call......a great book. Review: Finally a novel where at the last page read one finds compelled to buy the sequel. I have just read a new novel, "Waking God's Prophet", what an awesome read that brings you in the story line before "Left Behind" series.......highy suggest that as a part of your collection also.
