Rating: Summary: 5 star lemmings, crimeny! Review: My kindergartener has a better grasp of the revealed word of God and definitely has shown flashes of better writing than the authors of Left Behind. All of these 5 star ratings make me ashamed to be a Christian. Why? Because the book is a lousy piece of fiction. I can only assume the high ratings are the result of the lemming behavior typical of the brainwashed victims of fundamentalist cultdom. Life is short - don't waste any of it on this book.
Rating: Summary: Most compelling series I've been privileged to read! Review: I am thrilled to report that having read many various pieces of Christian literature, I have never found anything that holds a candle to the Left Behind series. The story grips you from the very beginning. I found myself sitting in my living room weeping during the first chapter of the book, when the reality hit me that this was more than fiction; this is really going to happen. I've learned an incredible amount about the book of Revelation, which remains a mystery even to many Christians. I would recommend this book to any mature adult, believer or not. If you are in search of the truth, curious about prophecy, or simply looking for the ride of your life, take this home. Read the entire series. I don't really have to tell you that, though. You read one, and you're hooked. I promise.Any questions for me? Ask away.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: This book takes a difficult-to-understand subject of Revelation and puts it into terms that are easily understandable. The authors do an excellent job of putting people into the book of varying backgrounds and beliefs making it easy for most readers to identify with someone in the book. Read it. It will change your life.
Rating: Summary: To Identify with a Character so completely brought tears... Review: I was amazed to find myself in each of the characters. I am still re-examining my own christianity and constantly find it lacking. I have tried to share it with everyone I know..most recently my husband has decided to read it and is now sharing it with his friends. It is a wonderful way for non-believers and amatures to be intregued into wanting to learn more. I thank LaHaye and Jenkins for helping me see the light!!!
Rating: Summary: this book is awesome! Review: this book is extremely accurate and enthralling. i could not put it down even to sleep. i highly recommend Left Behind and also the other books in this series.
Rating: Summary: Intense Novel of the Last Days!!! Review: I don't know what it was about this story that made me react the way I did. While I don't consider this book preachy, it made me look at myself in a whole new light. Boy! Do I need to change! The story was intense and gripping, though some of the circumstances happened at a much quicker pace than they probably actually would (my only complaint).
Rating: Summary: thought provoking - brings you back to your faith/religion Review: Having been raised in a southern baptist environment, church was always a must. Always on Wed. evening, twice on Sunday. As a young person, this can get old. When you are finally on your own you sometimes loose sight of your upbringing and the readings of the bible. This book and three others in a series (total 4) are novels, quick, exciting reading about ordinary people experiencing the "rapture" as it is described in the bible, however much easier to follow and absorb. Fascinating and scary at the same time. It truly makes you stop and examine how you live and what might possibly happen in the second coming of Jesus Christ. A must read
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: I can only hope I prove to be worthy! Everyone I know, literally,is reading or has read this series of books. ALL of us admit that it has changed our way of looking at the world, the news & our lives. It's a 'must read' - and then you can't wait to get to the next one - and the next...
Rating: Summary: A serious wake-up for those worried about being entertained Review: I am a fairly new follower to the "Left Behind" series, having just recently, within the last three months, purchased the first four books, solely on the recommendations of every member of the staff of the Christian book store I frequent. I have since returned to purchase the fifth (Apollyon) and sixth (Assassins) volumes and anxiously await the next available releases. I am currently nearing the end of "Apollyon" and find myself mesmerized by the Biblical reference, explanations, story line and the characters, as the authors portray the very real human characteristics of doubt, fear, indecision, confusion, determination, the need to learn and development of their faith. I agree with those that have expressed very negative comments, that the redundancy of the detail becomes monotonous, the reading level is certainly not on a Post Graduate scale, and the story is more wordy than I personally prefer. I submit my belief that these book articulate, the fundamental Christian principle, to share the word of God, evangelize the faith, share the Love that Christ offers and bring the truth that Jesus Christ is the Messiah to his people before the Rapture actually does occur and we are "Left Behind". If you feel doubt from that last statement I suggest you return to the first volume "Left Behind" and reading again. I also believe the authors and publishers have a much broader spectrum of life experience and spiritual knowledge than I and if the story had been written on the reading level suggested by so many, the fundamental purpose of this work would have been lost to those who have the most to learn from it.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful, Should be REQUIRED READING! Review: I have read the first two books of this series. It has brought me closer to Jesus Christ.
