Rating: Summary: The Power Of A Praying Parent Review: I keep this book next to my bed near my bible and use it on a daily basis. This is a great book. In today's world every parent should be praying daily for their children. The prayers in this book give me the right words to use when asking for God's help. I now continue to buy copies of the book to share with my friends who are also raising children. We all need a little help at times.
Rating: Summary: A year later and God is still awesome. Review: I purchased this book a year ago in March and I can not began to tell you how God has best our home. I don't think there is an area in our lives that have not be changed by pray. I have been blessed to see the hand of God work win my daughters live, to God be the glory. Parents, it is true that we do not have to leave our children's lives to change, but it can be controlled by the divine will and power of God. They can have Godly friends, they can have success in school, they can have good relationship with family members, that can respect the instruction of their parents. GOD IS SO GOOD AND WANTS THE BLESSING OF HIS WORD IN OUR CHILDREN'S LIVE.
Rating: Summary: Simplistic but Effective Review: I recommend this book to any parent who wants the best for their children.
Rating: Summary: One difficulty I had with this book... Review: I was given this book as a Christmas present about six months after the accidental drowning death of my two-year-old son. I have two older children and anxiously began reading to see what insights might lie within. After reading the chapter entitled "Securing protection from harm," I found myself feeling furious. I went back and read it again to see if I had missed something. Stomie's book implies that even if harm does come to your children, if you have covered them with prayer this pain or harm will be " to their betterment and not to their destruction." As a mother who prayed for safety and protection for her children daily (as well as their father and grandparents who prayed for them in this regard as well), it is frustrating to see that Stormie leaves no room for the FACT that sometimes tragedy happens. Her book implies that our son's death is a result of our lack of prayers. Her own son's unscathed escape from a car accident is attributed to the prayers of his parents. To what should my husband and I attribute the death of our son? I would have liked to see some kind of disclaimer or acknowledgement of the fact that tragedy happens sometimes to even praying parents. I let myself cool off for a month or so and picked the book back up to read again. I realize that there is a lot there that is good, but I was so offended initially that it took me a while to see that. I pray that Stomie Omartian never learns first hand that despite all of our prayers, our children are not always shielded from harm and even death. I imagine that if she had lost a child, the tone of her "protection" chapter would have been quite different. I recommend a book called "When Life is Changed Forever by the Death of Someone Near" by Rick Taylor. He is a Christian author who lost a son in an accidental drowning and who offers great perspective on learning to trust God again after such tragedies.
Rating: Summary: The ONE book every parent should have! Review: If every parent can learn that we should bring up our children in partnership with God and not us alone, then we will realize that praying for our children is the only way we can fight their battle with the world on their behalf. And praying is the only way parents can have peace in their hearts while other parents worried every single day if the kid will get hurt at school or on the streets, worried if the kid will take drugs or belong to the gang, worried if the kid will be kidnapped or will runaway.... Knowing that we should pray for our children's daily life and their future, we have the peace knowing that even though our children will have their problems and accidents, but God will have His blessings on them wherever they go.
Rating: Summary: POWERFUL PRAYERS Review: My wife and I have been reading this book at different speeds. One thing that really gets my attention is the awesome prayers that the author puts in the book. This is similar to praying with a prayer partner at church. You and the author agree together in prayer that fruit of the spirit will bloom in your childs life. That bondages will be broken and relationships restored and renewed. The prayer partner often prays scriptures that I hadn't even thought of and it's a revelation of hidden treasures in the word of God. My wife and I had read Rolf Garborg's book The Family Blessing about 2 years ago. We have been blessing our son every night ever since. Now I see the need to take it to the next level by praying for him with prayers like the ones the author has put in the book. In reading these prayers, I realized that some of the things I am praying for my child, are still in me. Like selfishness, rebellion etc. They must be dealt with in me too. My sincere thanks to the author and to God for this book. This is a book that I would want to buy for all of my friends if I could afford to. It's that good ! And I desire for my friends to be set free by this powerful book as well. I've already told some people about the book and was going to send a jpeg image of the book cover to some friends this morning. Thanks !

Stormie has truly opened up a new world for me and my family. A Praying parent is the best blessing any child can hope to have....
Rating: Summary: Today's Society Review: Right now this very minute, in today's society, parents need to think of their kids more than ever. With all of the recent deaths and horrible attacks, we need to take a long hard look at our families and our roles. Thanks to two authors who say, praying is good for one and all, Christian or not, get to praying! Stop, look and listen to two of my favorite authors, Jodie Lynn, with "Mommy-CEO," who says Don't Forget The Little Things, and Stormie Omartian, who guides parents and many others in prayer. Both authors are right on target. The goals of these Christian authors are real and badly needed today more than ever. "It's" prayer and the power behind a simple free gift offered to God for our children. Both of these books have inspired me and my husband to create a time in our own family space to pray and remember who is really in charge. Both women offer prayers with Mommy-CEO offering lots of tried and true parenting tips in addition. They are ideal for Christmas gifts to loved ones or someone who is lost but seeking guidance. Thank you to both Christian authors for helping my family to come closer in this fast paced crazy world. The two books are perfect combinations and my pastor recommended them both to our congregation. They are both blessings to parents, grandparents, step-parents, foster parents or even if you are just thinking about becoming a parent. Buy them as timely, and timeless, pieces of wisdom.
Rating: Summary: The Power of a Praying Parent Review: Since my boys have started into their teen years, they have really become stangers to their dad and me. Nothing seemed easy, every issue turning into arguments. Our youngest has been in special disciplinary programs most of this school year. Since reading your book on the power of praying parenting, I have become more at peace with my decisions and your book reminds me that I'm not the only sane person in our home! It seems when mothers are in control of their emotions and have a working relationship with God, everything else seems to work itself into place. The prayers are so elegant and powerful. I read them morning and night. Thanks so very much.
