Rating: Summary: The blinders have been removed and truth revealed. Review: This book I carry along with my Bible. It is insightful, biblical, and inspiring. Harris has revived the age-old and everstill importance of purity, not only of the body, but of the mind and heart. He has gone against the world and placed the Word of God right on the pages. Wonderful!!
Rating: Summary: Fed up with relationships that don't work? Review: IT'S sometimes amazing to me to realize that we live in a world where we can stop pain, where we can process information faster than the blink of an eye, where we can come up with such wonderful and creative things as the World Wide Web... and we can't even get right with God on something as simple as dating... Dating to me, seems to be a very flawed concept. You go out with someone, you break up... it hurts, so you do it again
Rating: Summary: "Dating for Dummies" not available? Read this instead! Review: The above has a double meaning for me, because dating often makes me feel quite dumb, putting on airs and masking insecurities. However, this book showed me there is a higher and more godly way. Joshua Harris is an idealist in the truest sense of the word, and he calls the reader to a higher ideal in both romantic relationships and relations with God. He teaches how to set priorities, not to rush things, and how to truly have fun.My only problem with the book is that Harris, in his idealism, sometimes neglects to give particulars in how to carry out some of the goals he proposes. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this for anyone who wants out of the dumbed-down dating scene.
Rating: Summary: This is a really good book. Review: I Think that this is a really good book. It shows why you should not date. Dating is getting ready for marrige, so why should you date until you are ready to be married? "Why shop when you can't buy" Another good book on this subject is "Best Friends for Life", by Michael and Judith Philips.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I ever read. Review: Every Christian should read this book. It divides a person of what they think is right for them and what God knows is right for them. Harris' illustrations show God's love and will in an understandable way.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK ON RELATIONSHIP Review: My best friend introduced me to this book and I am ever grateful to her. This book is very true and realistic, from the first to the last page. I am still very impressed that a guy my age write such a god-fearing book. As the introduction stated, it is not mainly about dating. The purpose of the book is that we let God lead in every area of our life, including our love/relationship because that is often the most inportant and hardest part that we are willing to let go. That is the only way to be blessed. Only God can give us what's best for our life if we let Him. However, reader needs to have an open mind when reading in order to learn something.
Rating: Summary: All success in life is TIMING Review: Ecclesiastes says that "to everything there is a season..." What Josh was saying is that no one will die if they wait until they are ready. It's not WHO is in the relationship with you as much as who YOU are in the relationship. The subject isn't about saying no, it's about saying not at this time. It's nice to be supported in that viewpoint. He also paints a picture of respect between men and women that seems to have gotten lost in our modern times. This is a book I'd recommend to everyone of every age..
Rating: Summary: Not enough stars to describe this book... Review: I loved reading this book...it made me cry many times...Josh's insights made me really think about the way people think of relationships...marriage is so much more than just two people saying that they will love eachother forever...it the uniting of two people and God to create a family...I passed this book on to a friend & she is loving it too..
Rating: Summary: Thought provoking! Review: I really wasn't up on reading this book because I've read many booking on dating but once I got into it I really enjoyed it. If you are closed minded about this subject then don't bother to read it but if you are open minded and want to figure out who God has for you, take the time to not only read this but to really think about it. Last of all, don't forget that if you want to do God's will you must talk with Him on a regular basis. Pray!
Rating: Summary: Joshua shows what Godly dating entails and great advice! Review: This is awesome book! Joshua has written the best book on dating that I have ever read. He's got great principles and tips, along with places where people have messed up in the past. He brings a biblical perspective and affirms convictions even in my own heart. He's definately in tune with God and understands the consequences of bad dating and relationships. I recommend this book to all young people who are wondering about dating and how far it should be taken. If you're a teen, you need this book and you'll definately benefit.
