Review: What a wonderfull book. A testamony of a truly Goddly Man. As a single father of two, I find it very hard to assoiate with the dating world. My reading this book put me back on track, a track of growing in the spirt of God, and learning to be more like him. I will pass this book onto my son and doughter.

Summary: Excellent!! Even for those in a relationship!
Review: I realize most people think this is CRAZY, but honestly I think Josh is right. The situations we put ourselves in in a dating relationship only bring trouble or hurt to one or both parties(at least 90% of the time). I truely feel that even people in dating relationships should READ THIS BOOK! Every one can take a little something away from this experience. Even if you don't agree whole heartedly, there are parts you just can't deny are TRUE.

Review: You may or may not agree with every thing Joshua Harris has to say but he has some very good points. It is definitely worth reading. I believe it will change your attitude toward relationships.

Summary: I have never dated and now I never will.
Review: The book was given to me by a female friend, someone who knows my pain of loneliness. While reading it, I dotted the margins with both 'amen!'s and questions that left me less at ease than when I started. I think a *big* problem with those people who have qualms with ceasing to date, is that they do not fully understand the definition of 'date'. Harris' point is that if you view dating as merely a form of short-term entertainment; if all you do is live from one date to the next, then you are doing wrong. I agree. However, if you view dating as getting to know your future bride/groom *in the presense of* his/her parents and never kiss them before the altar, then you are not dating, you would be, according to Harris and myself, courting. This discrepency between definitions was evident when Harris' book was being translated into German, where there is no system of 'dating' as Americans know it. I highly recommend Dr. Don Raunikar's book "Choosing God's Best". It presents this issue from and for a more mature level. I am not meaning to impune on Harris' book by recommending another, but I know people will be reading this review in the future and I encourage them to read both. Many people ask, "so how on Earth am I going to get to know my mate without first dating?" Billy Graham did it. Harris talks about how. Ask yourself how it is possible to get to know someone without dating them. Do you know your pastor? Do you know your best, same-sex friend? Did you ever date him or her? Obviously not. You wouldn't think of it since you are the same gender. As you can see, there are ways of getting to know someone without dating them. I urge all those who are thinking about becoming exclusive with a girl or guy to obey your Lord and never kiss before you are married. Afterall, why would you want to kiss someone to whom you weren't first prepared to say 'I love you.' And why would you want to say 'I love you' to someone to whom you weren't prepared to marry. Therefore, do not kiss who you are not prepared to marry.

Summary: FINALLY A BOOK FOR SINGLES THAT MY SPIRIT CAN SOAK UP!!!
Review: I commend Josh for his sensitivity to God's principles relating to dating and being single. This tape/book is appropriate for ANYONE who is single from 12 to 112. I listened to this tape in my car on the way to work, at work, while working out in the gym, and as a drifted off to sleep for two weeks solid. The result... A true desire to seek the Kingdom of God, first, and patiently wait for Him to bring me the desire(s) of my heart. And when the mate God has for me comes, I now have Godly dating principles to follow. This message will change your relationships with friends, to dating, and with God. Be blessed & enjoy!

Summary: A nice book, but a bit unrealistic
Review: I found this book very interesting and was intrigued by what the author had to say, but I had a little trouble with the whole concept of "kissing dating goodbye." This guy seems to be saying, "If dating is such a struggle, then why even bother?" This is taking the path of least resistance, and very rarely does this path ever produce satisfying results. Anything worthwile takes courage, and often means making a few mistakes. Dating is a process by which we learn a lot about the opposite sex, not to mention ourselves and how we relate to the opposite sex. By not dating you deny yourself this experience. Dating can actually be a very positive experience if it's done right, and if God is kept in the process. I would highly recommend THE 10 COMMANDMENTS OF DATING by Ben Young and Samuel Adams over this one; it gives clear, common-sense guidelines to follow on how to go about dating the right way.

Review: I love this book! I'm 17 yrs. old & I recommend it to all teenagers and everyone who is thinking of dating. It will also help out anyone that is currently in a relationship. I bought 2 more copies of this book after I read it. My friends love it and the book continues to circulate. I read it in 3 days, once I started it was hard to put down. Don't think twice, buy the book, buy a few! It's a tremendous blessing. **********(It deserves ten stars...off the scales.)

Summary: This book should be on the summer reading list!
Review: I bought this book and put it on the coffee table. It was soon gone and I saw it was in my sons room. Later it disappeared altogether. He had given it to a girl who then gave it to another friend. It finally returned home for the summer. I decided that I really should read it. It was hard to put down, but after I read his dream I had to stop. It was awesome and I just had to reflect on that dream for a while. We are leaving for the beach tomorrow and this will be my beach book. It would be wonderful if Josh Harris could come to the schools and share his thoughts on relationships with all our young people!

Review: This book looks at the common falacies in dating relationships today. It also shows a biblical dating alternative - courtship based upon principles found in God's Word. Topics include purity, friendship, what to say when asked about dating, principles on romance, biblical love, etc. I enjoyed being challenged by this book to keep myself pure for marriage, and base my love life on God's Word.
