Review: Philip Gulley does an excellent job of bringing us the stories of his life. He has a wonderful sense of humor and brings his relationship with God into perspective each time. He has a very interesting writing style that makes you want to know the man and read on. His other book is great too "Hometown Tales". I hope he puts pen to paper more often...

Review: Philip Gulley's books give me a sense of peace, calm, and quiet seasoned with a generous helping of humor that always lets me end my day on a happier note. I've read most of his works and especially enjoy the characters who make me think, "I KNOW that person!" "Front Porch Tales" has joined my other favorite book, Clyde Egerton's "Walking Across Egypt" as my gift of choice to dear friends and loved ones.

Review: This book is a great read-- it's not too intellectual and certainly not too preachy, but, as the title says, full of wit and wisdom from the author's everyday life, with some gentle support from scripture. I find myself re-reading certain stories over and over... they are very encouraging.

Review: This is a real treasure of a book! Each chapter is just three to four pages long and each chapter touched my heart and my funny bone. Philip Gulley has an easy wit with rich, nourishing phases. Don't miss this one!

Review: This was a wonderful little book about love, friends, family and faith. I don't normally read religious books, but this book left me feeling really good. Mr. Gulley has a wonderful sense of storytelling. He's never preachy, and he's very humorous without trying to be. I've just picked up the sequel to this book Hometown Tales...and though I've only read a couple stories in it...it's just as wonderful. I recommend Mr. Gulleys books to everyone. They won't disappoint you!!

Summary: Gulley's Travels
Review: When Phillip Gully was first published the man I work for heard about him. Mr. Gully was invited to a special company meeting where he read one of his stories. The company then gave each empoyee a copy of this book. It will make you laugh out loud and cry as well.
He touches a cord in all of us. Since I live close to the towns he writes about, I can tell you they are charming, and a slice of Americana that is all too quickly fading from our lives. This is the best book of the series. It will leave your heart glowing, and your spirit refreshed.
