Summary: What a surprise.
Review: In the summer, I usually don't read too much. When I got this from my Aunt as a graduation present, I sat down and looked at it. It looked interesting. I began to read it, and found myself on the edge frequently. I finished it in under a day, something I rarely do in book reading. The way Peretti makes you think something is coming, then having something completley different happen is amazing. This is the first book I've read by Peretti, and I can't wait to read more.

Summary: An Incredible Book!!
Review: I started this book this morning not knowing weather or not I would like it and I finished it a few hours later. This book was excellent. I have read other books by Peretti but so far this is the best I think. This book had a great plot based on a family team working secretly for the government to investigate strange occurances. I especially enjoyed that much of the book was set in a high school and many of the more important characters were other teenagers who's experiences I enjoyed reading about. This is the first in the series and I look forward to any other he will wright. I hope he has more teenagers in his next books too, and deals with important topics that affect some as he did in this book. I hope he writes many more soon! This was a great book!

Summary: Hangman's Curse: The Veritas Project
Review: Hangman's Curse is one of the best books written by Peretti. He had great characters, wonderful plot, and thrilling suspense. Something new happened every chapter, and it ends in a totally different way that what you think. As some people have already read this book, they know that this is only volume one. I can't wait until Frank Peretti comes out with volume two of The Veritas Project.

Summary: Frank lives up to his reputation
Review: If you love Christian suspense, or even if you don't, you will after you read this. Twins Elijah and Elisha and their parents make up a highly secret investigative team. The family goes all over the country to find "not only the Facts, but the Truth behind the Facts." In a small Washington town, a highschool's star athletes are coming down with a mysterious illness that leaves them insane. The Springfield family is sent to investigate, finding a mysterious ghost, a second class system, and witchcraft surrounding them. They soon realizes that there is the Baker High that everyone chooses to see, and the second Baker High where people are harrassed, abused, bullied, stolen from, and made fun of every day. What measures will people go to to stop it? Enough to murder? I loved this eerie book! Not one section was boring, I was hooked to every page! The only problem is that I have to wait till the next book comes out...

Summary: HANGMAN'S CURSE
Review: THIS IS A GOOD THRILLER. I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO SEE MR. PERETTI TIE UP ALL THE LOOSE ENDS. (I.E. DID THE OTHER VICTIMS GET THE ANTI-DOTE ETC.....) BUT OTHERWISE THIS IS A GOOD READ AND AS ALWAYS MR. PERETTI HAS HIS PRIORITIES IN ORDER.

Summary: Captures Your Emagination!!
Review: This book is the Kind of book that is hard to put down! Originally I bought it for a friends B-day present, it looked like a good book so I began to review the first page. The book left me with a questioning of what was going to happen, finally I desided it wouldn't be bad to read someones gift. As I read the book it captured my mind and imagination. I got so deep in the book that I finished the Entire thing in a day! It was so good that I read it over the next day. The Veritas Project Book or Hangman's Curse was a great book that demonstrated working together, friendship, and overcoming fear. Just because I may have read the entire book in one day doesn't mean that you have to, a book is something that you can determine how fast or slow to go. I recommend this book to everyone, expecially those with great imaginations. You will love this book!! Eden

Review: I truly enjoyed this book. It was a great story and it made me never want to put the book down. Besides being one of the best books I have ever read,it helped me see what others go through in their lives who aren't as popular as others, liked as much, or some who just have some problems. Also, this book is mysterious and you don't know what's going to happen next. This book was great and a must read for all ages.

Summary: Something we all need to learn...
Review: Athletes in a small town school have been stricken with an outbreak of fits of hysteria and delusional ravings. Rumors begin to fly: The school ghost, Abel Frye, has come to seek revenge. It's up to a family of special investigators to solve the problem. Is it truly a ghost that is attacking the victims? Or is it something or a more vile nature...

I found this book to be a very compelling work of fiction. It's a quick read, and isn't bogged down with excessive descriptions or seemingly irrelevant conversation. There is always something important and interesting happening that advances the plot.

The book has a good message, that every human life is sacred, and that people need to work together to end the conflict between various groups. In particular, it deals with the problem of bullying and harassment in schools, and of teachers and parent looking the other way or even encouraging such treatment. I light of all the recent school shootings, I find this topic to be extremely relevant in today's society. Many of these shootings could have been prevented if supposedly "weird" students had not been repeatedly harassed.

While the message is well intended, there is one message that is missing, and needs to be addressed. The family of investigators takes a Judeo-Christian approach to solving problems. There is nothing wrong with this, but it would be much more effective if it was a diverse group of people, each with a different religion, working together to solve the ills of the world. This would promore religious tolerance rather than a singular focus on one religion. To prove my point, I will address an issue that displays the author's own lack of religious tolerance. A common misconception about witches is included in this book. The students who were called witches in the novel were, in fact, practitioners of the dark arts. Witchcraft, in reality, is practiced by Wiccans, a peaceful religious group that believes in harming none. Thus, this novel should be taken with a grain of salt, and when reading it, one should take to heart this message: tolerance of religious diversity is something we all, including the author, need to learn. We cannot make this world a better place by conforming to one religion, but by embracing diversity and the many cultures and religions that make this earth a beautiful place to live.

Summary: Good Read, Best in Audio
Review: Frank Peretti delivers!! This is wonderful youth fiction, but adults who read Harry Potter will enjoy this mystery/suspense book. One tip? Mr. Peretti's voice on the audio book is outstanding and he is a wonderful story teller.
