Review: An insightful and rewarding book about an often overlooked historical moment. The reader is compelled to examine their own most deeply held beliefs about the Death and Restoration of Our Savior. I have recommended this book to several friends, and will continue to do so for years to come.

Summary: This work is short on connections!
Review: I bought this book and was VERY disappointed with it. You build a scenario for Christ's life before, during and after his crucifixion upon these ancient sources. I found your work to be conjecture, at best, and very lacking in references to ANY ancient script!You have a very lengthy bibliography that shows you have read a lot of others work but you make no connection to the work of others or to these ancient manuscripts to your theory. I am willing to grant you that your theory may be correct but it does not stand the test of being built on any foundation at all!

Review: I must admit, I'm normally a person that finds it hard to stay with a book.
I received this book on a Friday evening and could hardly put it down all weekend, I finished it on Sunday morning!
I believe this account is as good as any of what happened.
I felt the story flowed well, and held my attention.
If you are open minded, it could spark your beliefs.
Enjoyed the book alot.

Summary: Forgeries, assumptions and wishful thinking.
Review: I must say that I expected much more out of this book than it gave. First-off I had assumed by the title that there would be some semblance of scholarship behind it, but found none. In fact this is purely a fantasy world created for those who shell out money for things which support what they believe. It is obvious that this book was inspired by nothing but money and will thrive off of the sensationalism associated with fringe Christianity (the most lucrative customer base in existence). You too can make a bundle of cash simply by quoting forgeries and concocting another wild assumption about 'Christ'. Kimball references 'known forgeries' to support his case! This is absurd, to be polite. No serious theological scholar could possibly take this writer seriously, and neither should you. This is a work of fiction. I was extremely disgusted. I will gladly return to re-reading Gerald Massey and Godfrey Higgins, Jordan Maxwell and Acharya S., at least I know there is substance behind their claims and serious sholarship between the covers. I want my money back!

Review: i was really enjoying this book(politics of the crucifixion)when i got to page 56 the next 29 pages were gone so i couldn't finish it.what i did read was wonderful.would truly like to finish it.so will have to reorder it.

Review: If you want to get excited - to jump start your spiritual life- read these books. They will bring the story and life of Jesus alivefor you. I have read both his books and surfed his web site "Anchient Manuscripts" often - I still have barely scratched the surface. Good reading and good luck.

Summary: A Truly Insightful Work!
Review: It is remarkable how well the information provided in Glenn's book supports that which is contained in the Bible. We have known for years that Pilate waw hesitant to crucify Jesus. Why would a Roman soldier be hesitant to crucify any non-Roman? These questions are answered in Glenn's book along with accounts that seem very compatible with the character of Pilate, Jesus, and the Sanhedrin as depicted in the Bible. The main message is that Jesus was always in control, something true believers always knew. He showed love to everyone, even those who wished to harm him and especially those who were victims of evil men, like Pilate. The lesson we can learn from this work is that Jesus really was the Son of God and we need to get our lives in order and not think for a minute that we can get away with doing evil. Good work Glenn!

Summary: Promising topic - sloppy execution.
Review: Kimball presents a topic which deserves thorough investigation. His reliance upon apocryphal literature is not the weakness of this book; these works clearly hold much information which would clarify the cultural and political context of the crucifixion. I get the feeling, however, that his research was sketchy and extremely uncritical. How are we to accept the concept of the "Druid University" in England [was is accredited?] [where Kimball maintains Jesus and Pilate both studied!] with no further documentation. The editing is extremely poor. I get the feeling this book is nothing but a transcript of wandering, not very well organized, spoken presentations. For example, although the book gives the text as "Master 'Mayhem'", this is clearly mistranscribed and reveals Kimball's theological background - which he tries to keep hidden. [Hint - check the city of publication.] Not that there is anything wrong with this;some of the most intriguing research springs from this theological source. The problem is, while good, solid scholarship should be the goal when dealing with this topic, what Kimball has given us is a rather informal, off the cuff, and extremely poorly written little book. Merely listing a lot of books at the end does not constitute scholarship! Footnotes are used for a reason! Please, next timel, try to do the job right!
