Rating: Summary: A beautiful book by a gifted author Review: Max Lucado has that rare gift for taking scripture and making it clear, simple, and applicable to lives today. Just Like Jesus is a prime example of his talents. Challenging the reader to see Christ in his humanity, without dismissing his divinity, is a tightrope Lucado walks very well.
Rating: Summary: Awesome, this book can change your life! Review: This book can really help personalize your relationship with Jesus. It can highlight the areas in your life that you need to work on in order to grow as a Christian. I love it!
Rating: Summary: " A DEFINITE EYE - OPENER " Review: "I HAVE SPENT YEARS CLAIMING TO BE THIS AND THAT, THIS BOOK MADE ME TAKE AN HONEST LOOK AT MY DAY TO DAY LIFE" . AFTER READING "JUST LIKE JESUS" , I KNEW I WASN'T WHERE I SHOULD BE AND NOW THAT MY EYES ARE OPEN, ON A DAILY BASIS I STRIVE TO BE JUST LIKE JESUS ! (THANKS MAX)
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: Lucado has done it again! This book is so great that I have bought several to give away. No- it's not intellectually stimulating- I don't think the author intended it to be- it is "heart" and "spirit" stimulating. Anyone as intelligent as Lucado could write something too difficult for us to understand, but he chooses to use a style that all of us can relate to- Just like Jesus did (and does)
Rating: Summary: Church and "Just Like Jesus" Converted Me Review: My daughter bought this book for me and it forced me to do major thinking about my life. I started church and am now a Christian. "Just Like Jesus" helped with that process. It is a wonderful book. All of Lucado's books are good and if you know someone who needs saved, I would definitely recommend a Lucado book to start the process if nothing else works!
Rating: Summary: Uplifting, Food for a Troubled Soul..... Review: I read this book during a very bitter custody battle in which it was very hard to even think about "being like Jesus". As I read the book, I began to find peace that nothing else provided. Reading about Jesus from this point of view will really help you see that indeed you are not going through anything Jesus did not. I recommend it highly for anyone who desires to be more like Jesus but is unsure how.
Rating: Summary: Good stories, no meat Review: Like most of Max Lucado's work, this book is a good compliation of stories with very little to offer in the way of thought provoking writing. It's great for a devotional, feel good, book but won't tell you anything to challenge your mind.
Rating: Summary: A must read for every Christian! Review: This book was wonderful. Max gives examples that are easy to understand and interpret. Wanting to grow as a Christian, I found this book extremely helpful. I highly recommend this book to you. You won't regret it. Max is a great writer, and I am going to buy copies of this book for all my relatives.
Rating: Summary: Very Inspirational Review: I was going through a tough divorce and it gave me the strength to do nice things, instead of wanting revenge. I made a point to read at least one chapter a day. If I was upset, I would read and he helped give me the strength to do what I morally should do. The book was not overpowering by too many scriptures. He did an excellent job of using scriptures to get the message across. I have also read two more of his books. He is a great author.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book to take Christians further Review: Lucado does mankind a great service introducing this often humorous portrayal of Jesus. Not since Patton's breath-taking "The Autobiography of Jesus of Nazareth and the Missing Years" have I read anything like this. Both Patton and Lucardo breath life into the man history refers to as Jesus in such a way that he is pertinent to our daily lives. Highly recommended!
