Review: My pastor assigned this book to all church leadership. It is a practical work, written in a conversational manner that emphasizes the need to make prayer the basis for all activity in the life of the church, bringing reconciliation and healing to all who seek it from God.

Summary: Prepare to be changed!
Review: I was dying spiritually. My church has been flat for two years, and we couldn't understand why. I read this book, and it brought me to my senses and to my knees. I bought five copies and gave it to five leaders in the church. It has reignited at least one, and we started really praying together last week. Tonight we had seven in our group, and God is really bringing us back to him. If you are tired of playing church, read this book!

Review: A thoroughly comprehensive book on what happens when God's people pray. Pastor Cymbala relates personal testamonies and stories from his congreagation on the incredible power of our Lord and Savior. A must read for any Christian with enough Gospel in it to save the lost. Very easy to read, and quite moving.

Review: I was intrigued by the fact that 31 out of 31 reviews had given this book a 5 star rating. That is unheard of. I started reading it last night and COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. If ever there was a book that was written and infused by the Holy Spirit this is it. It speaks directly to what is missing in our churches and our prayer life. Simple, yet deeply profound. I want to buy 20 for friends, council members and our own Prayer Band. Take these incredible thoughts into the new millenium and let's transform the world!

Summary: Spirit-filled reading - an incentive to pray more!
Review: I have read this book three (3) times and could read it again and again. Our church has been experiencing difficult times and this book speaks to my heart and has lead me to start a Prayer Band on Wednesday evenings! Thank you, Jim Cymbala, for sharing the bottom line to Christ's church. We must be a church of "prayer" - Pray for our church that we may too become spirit-filled and led by Jesus Christ.

Summary: An Absolute Must Read for a Relevant Church
Review: This is a fabulous book. When you are tired of churches standard practices, and feel you cannot go another step, this is the book to read. You will be encouraged that inspite of incredible odds, God still works miracles when you hit your knees. Read it. Give it to your friends, and start a prayer group. Once you start praying, miracles will start happening.
