Summary: For Such A Time As This
Review: God is so awesome! Our church is inner-city and are facing a very simular situations as Pastor Cymbala was facing in the 70's. We've just begun a 13 week Bible Study on "The Diciple's Prayer Life" with 15 attending and someone put in my possession "Fresh Wind Fresh Fire." I could hardly believe it for it spoke so much truth to my heart. I bought 2 more books so the whole class could pass them around. You can see the change in our little group toward prayer and the desire to be cleansed of sin after reading this powerful book. Our people are excited about what God can and will do through us if we would but pray! Thank you God for sending us "Fresh Wind Fresh Fire" on time and Pastor Cymbala for being obedient.

Summary: PRAY WITHOUT CEASING!
Review: I am now on my second read of this book. I have recommended it to friends and they love it as well. It is hard for me to admit that I needed instruction on how to pray. Pastor Cymbala does not toot his own horn. He toots GOD's horn. And that's what we all should be doing!! I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It is not necessarily just for Christians, its for anyone who needs a spiritual elevator UP!!!

Summary: Absolutley Amazing
Review: I read Pastor Synballa's book over a year ago-still to this day his message comes across loud and clear. My church is like many today-they rely on programs to get people to fill our pews-I don't think there is anything wrong with programs but I believe if we had more Faith in God we would see a dramatic change in our church, and I'm not just talking in numbers. Prayer to me is the biggest part of ones spiritual walk-thank God for pointing this out to Pastor Symballa and blessing him(and Me) with this book. I have attended two of Pastors Symballas Prayer meeting and I was so amazed at how many people came together on a Tuesday night to pray.it gave me new found hope for my church.

Summary: Changes Everything
Review: It is hard to describe how dramatically this book has affected me. We are going through both difficult and revival times in our congregation and what this book describes is basic and yet wonderfully Christ like. It has given us direction, not to copy what Jim did but to create for our congregation a prayer service/revival service that is what God wants for us. The absolute best book on Christianity that I have ever read(outside of the obvious Bible) in my entire life. It is a MUST read for all Christians, especially in leadership positions.

Summary: Will Change THE Way You Talk To God
Review: This book has changed the way i pray to God i have received so much answered prayer it's a miracle ! God bless Pastor Cymbala for sharing these awesome experiences!!!

Summary: Drives home the absolute necessity of continual Prayer!!!
Review: Another and very fine wake up call to those who belong to the Lord Jesus Christ - underlining and reinterating the specific instructions of Jesus to pray without ceasing, demonstrating the grand results that comes for diligent prayer; prayer of the kind required of all who strive to succeed in living the Christ-like life; a most worthy "companion book" to the Bible and the works of E. M. Bounds. Diligent prayer is absolutely primary and manditory if the preaching/teaching and witnessing that follows is to be successful . . . is the theme of this very excellent book; the absence of which - as is also demonstrated in this text - results in failure; the failure that is now being experienced by and in most all evangical churches of today. This book is one more most excellent wake up call as to the absolute necessity of continual heart-felt prayer by each of us who seek to successful live and serve our Lord, Jesus Christ!!!

Summary: Prayer is the secret to reaching our world for Christ.
Review: The secret is not techniques or programs, but the simple discipline of learning to "call on the name of the Lord."

As a new pastor it's so easy to get caught up in the trends that supposedly lead to church growth and how-to techniques for winning the lost. Unfortunately, this is how many of us measure our success in ministry.

Jim Cymbala ensures that the reader never forgets throughout his book that prayer and dependence upon God is the secret to reaching the lost.

I read this book in practically one sitting. Great book.

Summary: Other than the Bible, best book I have ever read
Review: This book is the answer to the problems that the body is experiencing. We have replaced prayer with programs, with preaching, with music, with anything we think will bring people to the LORD. In so doing we have abdicated the one thing that will truly bring people to the LORD and change our lives, and that is simply prayer! Thank you Jim for this book and your testimony to GODS greatness and HIS answered prayer. God bless you and your ministry.

Summary: This book will light a fire in your soul!
Review: I have never read a book so profound, powerful and practical on the subject of prayer. Jim Cymbala's testimony of the Holy Spirit's fire that blazes with regularity in the Brooklyn Tabernacle is something that I, as a pastor, needed to hear. Praise God!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Inspiring and simply outstanding.
Review: This book has taught me how important prayer is in the life of the Church as well as in my own life. I would rate it 5++ stars. It is easy to read as well as an inspiring and motivational book. I love the Lord, but this book makes Him even more loving, if that's possible. I can hardly wait for the next book, "Fresh Faith," which will be out in September, 1999.
