And if you are one of those persons that still has doubts now and then about the power of Faith, please pick up this book. What an awesome story he writes about letting go and letting God. It is amazing how Mr. Cymbala makes it clear that it's not the number of members in the church, but the Faith of the members that makes or breaks the church. Our church has prayer on Wednesday nights, and I must say that the people come prepared to give thanks and praise and to know that our Father is present hearing our prayers. There is Faith in this church.Thank you Jim Cymbala for such a loving, heart warming, and truly inspiring book. I ran out and bought the remaining three books you've written and will get to them very soon. God bless you!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Challenging Review: Jim Cymbala accepted an invitation to pastor an inner-city Brooklyn congregation, and this book grew out of his experiences as pastor. He had never attended any seminary; in spite of his, or perhaps because of this, his understanding of the Holy Bible is deep and the insights and incidents presented in Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, are thought-provoking. This book is well worth the price you may pay for it, although I wish there were a cheaper paperback edition. Este libre se ha traducido al espanol: el titulo de la edicion espanol es "Fuego vivo, viento fresco."

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Grow Your Church -- The Right Way Review: Many congregations, and especially ministers, are eager to see their church grow. Unfortunately, it often is only in the numerical aspect. This book focuses on the spiritual aspect. Communication with God, via prayer, is of utmost importance. Cymbala shows how his church grew, because they had the right motives. This is common among larger churches that have staying power. Others are here one year, gone the next. They focus on people and programs. Cymbala points out the fallacy in that. He also points out that praying is not to become the next "program". Get right with God and the rest won't matter.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: "A Breath of Fresh Air" Review: This book gave me a quick kick in the pants, because God has to remind me too often that I need Him to accomplish His purposes. Jim tells his story of moving to New York City and taking on a struggling church that is about to die. The church is in the heart of an African-American community full of inner-city problems, but Jim is convinced that God wants do a great work among the people. Can Jim be successful as a minister in this community being a white, Anglo-American man? No, but God can through Jim's faithfulness and availability. This book is a breath of fresh air and a constant reminder that miracles still happen today, and that God can overcome any obstacle that stands in the way if we simply trust Him. So put down your romance novel and your mystery thriller and breathe some good, clean, FRESH air!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Prayer Power in Action Review: To say this is a gripping and inspirational book fails to do it justice. From the stiring testimonials of God's power working through the lives of those touched by the Brooklyn Tabernacle to the accounts of God's marvelous acts from the pages of holy Scripture, Jim Cymbala's book is a masterpiece. I do not believe it is possible for a person who is seeking after God to read this book without being deeply touched. Oh that every Christian, especially every pastor and church leader, would pay heed to the truths shared in this Spirit-inspired book. <><

A must-read for a pastor or church leader.
