Rating: Summary: This is the most spiritually moving book I have ever read. Review: The telling of the Brooklyn Tabernacle story in this book which centers around a pastor and people dedicated to prayer and following God's will challenges me to pray more. Cymbala's obedience to God and love for the people of New York chronicled here leaves the reader with a sense of awe and with a feeling of challenge to "go and do likewise." Our original copy is circulating; I am buying additional copies for Christmas gifts.

Rating: Summary: A life transforming book that will "send you to your knees" Review: Pastor Cymbala has done the church a great favor. He points out our tendency to depend on everything but God in the life of our church. His call to focus on God's Word, boldly spoken and with accompanying power is a clarion call to all believers that hunger for God's truth in their lives. This book will make you hungry for God and will drive you to your knees. I plan to have all the key leaders in our church read this book!
Rating: Summary: Possibly the most motivating book I have ever read. Review: This book woke me up as to what the real role of the church is. When other churches concentrate on growth, the Brooklyn Tabernacle concentrated on God and on prayer. When you want growth, pray and focus on God and He will take care of the growth, along with anything else you and your church might need.

Rating: Summary: This book will powerfully affect your walk with God Review: Reading this book will help kindle a fire in your heart for God to do more in you. Pastor Cymbala is candid about the struggles that led to the breakout of the work of God in the Brooklyn Tab. The stories of the ministry done by the people and hte lives that have been changed are incredible. One of the encouraging aspects of this book is that it shows you don't have to be a powerful personality or organizational genius to be successful in ministry. You just have to be passionately in love with Jesus. Read this book.
