Summary: Boring.
Review: I found this book incredibly boring. I was so over the princess theme after only a few chapters that I could barely go on. The writing took on a lofty tone almost for the sake of loftiness. I wanted to like it, but I did not. It felt plastic to me, without the real vulnerabilities that draw a reader in. I cannot recommend it.

Summary: An excellent book on remembering who we are
Review: I loved this book! The author talks about how through Christ we are daughters of the King and how important it is to remember our true identity when the world breaks our heart, shatters our dreams, and refuses to recognize who we really are. I especially loved how she talks about woman's innate desire to be found by a prince and how Jesus is that prince for us. Even if an earthly prince never shows up, we can know that our heavenly prince has already found us and that he sees our beauty beneath the rags that this world often forces us to wear, and he loves and cherishes us. I also loved how she talks about the difference between being trying to be a princess in the world (through appearance and fame) and cultivating a princess heart which creates a beauty from within that will last for eternity. I highly recommend this book!

Summary: I really wanted to like this book...
Review: I really wanted to like this book, but it just fell short. I expected to be uplifted and encouraged. I wanted to be left believing that purity of heart was possible in this world of disappointment, discouragement, and sin. Nicole's book didn't do that for me. Any truth or practical application becomes buried beneath the constant references to princesses, usually of the Disney variety. I agree with the other reviewer who said that the "Princess" theme becomes tiresome after the first few chapters. I'd go farther and say it even becomes forced...as if the author knows there is promise and possibility in her theme, but the idea doesn't become fully realized. As for the tone, I think that in this book, the author never really hit her stride, and that's why the tone is a little off. And in the "you can't judge a book by its cover" category, I must say that the cover itself is uplifting and delightful, with its satiny feel, glowing colors, and cherubic "princess." Whoever designed it captured the essence of what I think a "princess heart" must be. Unfortunately, the book never quite succeeds at doing the same thing. Nicole is otherwise a talented performer and on-the-mark author. I only hope that she doesn't abandon this theme, but finds a way to help it come to fruition in further works. I want to keep my princess heart! But, alas, I've already gotten rid of the book. A book along the same lines that truly succeeds at achieving its point is "Do You Think I'm Beautiful?" by Angela Thomas. Don't let the title throw you...it's an encouraging read for any woman.

Summary: Don't judge a book by the cover.
Review: I was so disappointed with this book. I bought it for a book discussion group some ladies in my church were doing. I found this to be very light-weight reading, and it didn't do much in the way of edifying me in my Christian walk. If you want to read about how much God loves you, there are many, many other much better books out there - try the Bible. I'm sorry I wasted the money on this book.

Summary: Living Up to the Expectations of Every Prince Charming
Review: Most fairy tales only hinted at the expectations of the Prince Charmings of the world, made famous by the classic of Cinderella. But as the story goes, the Prince tried the foot of every available woman in the kingdom to find that one foot. This should remind every princess of how important that one foot was, and why he would entertain the fantasy and the journey to locate it. All stardust is made of such fancy, and whether the fantasy of Cinderella herself, however doubtful in her position, the warm flames of the inspired heart of her Prince Charming kept it very much alive for her. The least women can do is accommodate his fantasy, and live up to those lofty expectations if she can. As most women know, tiara's always come with arduous responsibilities.

Summary: Real Life Perspective
Review: Nicole johnson is an incredible author who uses real life situations and story lines to encourage woman. The purpose of this book is to find a balance between living in despair or living a fantasy. I could not put this book down. It brought tears to my eyes whether I was crying or laughing. She is honest and genuine as well as humorous in the way she depicts her stories and characters. This is a great book when you're dealing with struggles. It helps you to remember that God is in charge of your life and everything is purposed or allowed for your good and He loves and cares about you. I think we all need to remember that and believe that from the depths of our heart soul fact that God loves us enough to be called His daughter and friend but also as His very own "princess" is more than just a cliche. And this book brings all of this and more into perspective, not in a condeming way, but a loving and compassionate way that helps you to understand the depths of God's love for us a little more with each page you turn.

Summary: Trouble with feeling like Royalty?
Review: This book is awesome! I have struggled for a very long time with feeling like I am royalty in Gods eyes! This book showed me that I am God's princess. I just have to have faith that He is going to hold me in that position! I AM A PRINCESS!

Summary: Not One of Nicole's Better Books
Review: This book lacks the wit and wisdom as Nicole's other books. I was totally depressed after reading the first four chapters; she only paints a picture of how horrible this world can be. Thankfully, the book does get slightly better in chapter five, but the content lacks creativity. Overall I did not find Keeping a Princess Heart uplifting or beneficial.
