Rating: Summary: Meet the dangerous Jesus and forever "ruin" your life! Review: Absolutely fantastic!! Mike Yaconelli describes Jesus and Christianity as God intended, not as humans have watered-down, tamed, controlled & bottled-up.This is the Christ that will transform your life! You will read illustrations from Jesus' life as you've never heard them before. This book will revitalize old Christians and invite new believers to a Christianity they may not have seen or heard before (unfortunately!). Meet the "Rule Breaker" who is full of "Irresponsible Passion", "Wild Abandon", "Daring Playfulness" and "Naive Grace".
Rating: Summary: faith provoking Review: An enjoyable faith provoking book. I enjoyed the author's view of spirituality through the eyes of a child. I hope to see more.
Rating: Summary: So inspiring you'll never forget it. Review: An important book on very important subjects. Those subjects are finding your passion for God and life again. This book not only gave me a great read, it helped me find the courage to follow God- something I wasn't able to do before. This book has also gotten me to smile more, play more, pray more, and worry less. This book is nothing short of amazing. If you read it you'll see why.
Rating: Summary: The Wonder Of It All! Review: Be warned! This book is not a theological thesis bogged down with stuffy theories and over-your-head language. This book is FUN! If you want to get some idea about how to experience a wondrous child-like faith in God, this is the book for you. Yaconelli relates story after story that illustrate just how we, as Christians, have lost sight of the true wonder of being a child of the Creator. Read this book, then go out and play in the safety of the presence of God.
Rating: Summary: If this book doesn't move you, you're dead. Review: Dangerous Wonder greatly moved me. It expanded my view of God and of his love. Mike Yaconelli does the almost impossible with this brief, easy to read, book -- he helps us see the God Who is beyond words. He helps us see the love of God which is beyond comprehension. And he challanges us -- me -- to break out of the boxes we put ourselves and our faith in. This is the best book I've seen on childlike faith and what it looks like to live it out. If you find your faith getting stale, dusty, and, yes, boring, get this book -- now. Mark Marshall is the author of God Knows What It's Like to be a Teenager.
Rating: Summary: Read...You Won't Be Disappointed! Review: Dangerous Wonder was recommended to our Bible study class and I am glad that I read it. It encourages us not to display child-like behavior; however, to have child-like faith. Do you remember feeling like your Mama and Daddy would always take care of you no matter what? This book compounds this feeling a million times by reminding us of how much God loves us and is looking after us. I was raised in a Christian home, by very loving parents and went to church regularly, yet somehow missed the magnitude of Christ's love for us. Think about Jesus' outstretched arms on the cross as his way of saying, "I love you thiiiiiis much!"ΓΏ
Rating: Summary: For The Very First Time Review: For the first time in my christian life i understood child-like faith. My whole life was so shrouded in legalism, i couldn't see hope, freedom, or even joy. I was 24 when i read this book. I hope people get there hands on it much sooner than that. If you have ever gone 11 years being a christian and never found joy. read this book. be free.
Rating: Summary: A good, quick read... Review: Granted, I'm a college student and not a parent, I still appreciated this book for it's attempts to explore "childlike faith" and rediscover that that is where God wants us all to be. I've been fascinated with the "childlike faith" idea for the past few years now, and this book is a nice glimpse into that idea with a variety of simplistic reflections that don't complicate things, but rather, tell life how it is. Many people come to Christian living books with expectations to take them deep, deep and deeper, and are disappointed when they don't "feel" like that the book was that deep. However, I don't think Mike writes simply for fun...he does so to help us understand that we don't have to use big words to impress God...b/c a child-sized heart is big enough.
