Summary: 100% Pure Apocalyptic Drivel
Review: This book is a sure-fire prescription for scaring the daylights out of young kids (I know, I was one of them). Mr. Lindsey's theories have proven to be nonsense (the world was supposed to have ended by now), but you'll never hear Mr. Lindsey admitting he was wrong. He just keeps re-writing the book to eliminate all embarrassments. Just for fun, try comparing the original book to the latest revison. Better yet, read "End-Time Visons: The Road to Armageddon?" by Richard Abanes and understand how "prophets" like Hal Lindsey have been peddling their apocalyptic nonsense for the last two thousand years. Or, if you want, go ahead and read "The Late Great Planet Earth"--just don't read it to your kids and scare the crap out of them for no good reason.

Summary: Ooops!
Review: This book practically replaced the Bible in the fundamentalist church I attended in the 70's and had the whole congregation running scared. What silly nonsense it turns out to be. Completely wrong in every interpretation as the clear evidence of history has proven. The lesson of this book now is to beware of false prophets, but keep your faith in God.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Mr. Lindsey's interpretations prove to be completely wrong
Review: Mr. Lindsey's interpretations suggest that the Bible points to current (1970's) political alliances and states as the evil empires that herald the end of the age, the battle of armegeddon and the second coming of Christ. These events should have played out in the eighties. Instead, the Soviet bloc has collapsed, Egypt and other middle east states have made peace with Israel and completely new problems exist that were unforseen at the time the book was written. In short, there is a very good reason that this book is out of print. It is an embarassment to the author.

Summary: False Prophecies, Failed Predictions
Review: Hal Lindsey claims to possess knowledge of the future based upon Biblical prophecies. He expected that the fulfillment of his predictions would occur in the 1980's. Not only has the predictions failed to occur during the expected time, some of the nations that Hal Lindsey depended upon to fulfill the predictions no longer exist -- particularly, the Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc. This book has created futile fears and dismal expectations for numerous people.

Summary: Passed the test of time
Review: It's been several years since this book piqued my curiosity. It contains the author's interpretation of biblical prophecy. Having recently given it a re-read and finding it's presentations still strong and compelling, I have to say read it. It has relevant information that is definitely thought provoking.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Chilling, exciting & accurate!
Review: The best selling book of the 70's still contains some of the best prophecy revelation ever. This book contains incontrovertible proof that Christianity is the one true way. Everybody should read this. We told you so!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Complete for its time.
Review: This book really revived the prophetic teachings. It vividly explains how the 7 churches in the biblical book of the Revelation is a picture of the whole church-age in 7 stages. I found it to be excellent and easy reading. History buffs should love this to as it gave future news in advance. He has a new book out in a novel form entitled, "Blood Moon" taken from the words of Jesus in Matthew 24

Summary: MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW
Review: I will be forever thankful to this author and this wonderful book. It is an honor to be able to write a review about it.
I first read this book over 30 years ago and it changed my life.
The information in it was mind boggling and kept me glued to the pages for hours. I shared it with everyone I knew.
Recently someone gave me the book again, and yes I again sat and read it from cover to cover. Written in a clear and understanding way, this book will move you to not only seek out Bibical prophecy for yourself, but examine your own heart in this last hour that we are living.
If you have never read this book;I urge you to get yourself a copy and read it every so often until the Lord appears.
Highly recommended.

Summary: Soul Destroying...
Review: Obviously, none of this came to pass. But I'm still here. I was brought up, steeped in this stuff, honestly believing that the world was going to end in 1977 / 1982 / 1986 / etc. I grew up with no sense of mortality, expecting to be raptured up into the air at any moment -- I would never die, we were the last generation. But I'm still here, and now I'm dying. My body was not tranformed, it has just worn down. How do you reconcile this? If "they" were wrong about this, then what else were they wrong about?

I can point many significant events in my life back to this book. It has influenced my being, and for that I am a fool. It has very nearly destroyed my faith and my health and my life. Perhaps this has been a blessing after all, because while I haven't found the truth, I have found all the lies that we are told by these religious people. Take away all the lies and garbage, and strip away everything I thought was right and good and correct, and underneath these layers of filth, I have finally found peace and love and God.

Jesus didn't come back. I still believe in Jesus. But I do not believe in Mr. Lindsey. Mr. Lindsey, you are my anti-Christ. Can I have my soul back, or at least my money?

Summary: Lindsay's Cottage Industry.
Review: Every 3 years Hal Lindsay writes a new book denoting how the world will end in 5 years. Each subsequent book explains how he WASN'T wrong in the previous book and the world will really end in 5 years. Don't take my word for it, search his name and see how many titles come up. Maybe I missed it, but I'm of a mind that the world didn't end.
He has followed this pattern for 3 decades and is now acknowledged as "the fore-most authority on Biblical prophecy in the world today." Even being a high paid "consultant" for Christian movies like The Omega Code.
I'm an electrician. If I had been doing my job POORLY and WRONG for 30 years I doubt I would be "the foremost authority". In fact, I dare say I would have ceased to make a living in my chosen profession in the first 10 years.

Lindsay has turned failure into fortune. He has truly failed upward. That is the true teaching that he has for us all. This is the lesson to be learned.
Now that you have learned it, please stop rewarding the inept. Do not advance this charletan's popularity and please do not transfer any of your hard earned money into Mr. Lindsay's pocket. Expose him for what he is (a fraud preying on the pious) to all who will listen.
Then spend your money buying some orphan kid school clothes. Some day the world WILL end. By act of man, God or nature I'm not sure, but while it exists you can make someone's stay a little easier. And it'll brighten your time here, too.

PS - I'm an Ordained Minister. So, no, I wasn't sent by Satan to undermine Hal Lindsay's mission.

Peace.
