Summary: AMAZING!
Review: A great compilation of stories around the world that really help you to think and question your faith. It constantly asks the question, would you be willing to go through this for Jesus?The stories give courage to the new believers and grows the faith of the old timers. An excellent and easy read, its well laid out and wonderfully put together. I would recommend it to everyone both young and old but with the caution that some stories are a little graphic.

Summary: Eye Opening Stories
Review: My friend purchased this book while on our Senior High mission trip, and we took time to read it together. After every single story we had to stop and take a deep breath, trying not to cry. Although some stories are similar, each one has a profound impact on the reader. It's moving account is not dulled by the previous story. We both realized how much we take for granted, and it opened up discussion for how we would respond in the same situations. This is a wonderful tool for any youth pastor. It brings up a question that is unaviodable once mentioned: Would YOU give up YOUR life for Christ?

Review: I don't think a book has ever touched me this much! This is the greatest book I have read in a long time. A MUST for dcTalk fans! It will surely bring you closer to God!

Summary: Beautifully organized, captivating
Review: This is an amazing collection of practically unbelievable stories--well, that is, if I didn't believe in a living and miracle-working God. If you didn't realize that this sort of martyrdom still existed, then this is a frightening wake-up call. Otherwise, these stories will just amaze you. dc Talk and the Voice of the Martyrs has done a very nice job of putting together these stories from all over the world, interspersed with scripture, lyrics, and quotes. At the end is a synopsis of each country mentioned and the situation there currently. There are also several addresses in the back to encourage you to get involved. Thank God for this book!

Summary: Challenging
Review: I received this book as a free gift for attending YC2K in April. I started reading 2 or 3 stories from it every nite and found that I usually could not stop after only reading 2 or 3, soon it became 8 or 10 every day. I went thru the book very quickly and thouroughly enjoyed it. I felt challenged as a Christian in my faith, and often found myself putting myself into the people's situations, trying to decide if I could stand for my faith to the point of death. It strengthened my faith, and challenged me not to be discouraged by persecution.

Review: This book is SOOOOOO inspiring it hurts. The persecution of Christians is still a major subject in today's world and this book presents it so carefully and honestly that it's impossible to stop reading it for 24 straight hours.

Summary: An amazing book, no higher recommendation!
Review: I discovered this book by accident. It's supposedly intended for the "younger" Christian audience (which would leave me out...), but I feel it is a valuable read for any age. Page after page of stories of Christian martyrs -- people who were subjected to derision, torture, and even death, rather than renounce their faith in Jesus. It's an educational book, and certainly moving, but also should be quite shocking to us "modern, civilized" people who don't realize there are thousands of Christian martyrs still being made every year. This may inspire feelings of anger, but, remembering the faith and attitude of those we read about, I hope it can cause us to channel that anger into prayer and action for the Church. An excellent book for "younger Christians," but just as excellent for us older ones, too. I could not give a higher recommendation than I do for this book!

Summary: Gotta read it
Review: I got this book a few months ago and the first time i read it it made me cry. It really makes you think about whats going on even today that we dont even know about and how many Christians are getting persucuted each year. The best part about this book to me isnt just what it says but how it has helped me. I have to friends that arn't really believers but kind of believe in God. So when they come over I try to be the best witness i can. They love this book! I came into my room one day and found them sitting on my bed reading it. And its just so awsome because God can use as little things as this book to help me be able to bring my friends to Christ. Its one of my all time faviorate books and one that you have to read~!

Review: When I first saw this book, I knew I had to get it. Reading this made me realize what people have gone through for loving Jesus and refusing to deny him. It's the first time that I really asked myself what I would do in a situation like the martyrs in this book. It,s definitely made a difference in my life.
