Rating: Summary: Jesus Freaks Review: Our family selected this book in a local book store with a Christmas GC. Since reading this book, we are sending 10 of these books to friends and family! Never has a book caused such family united chats as we take turns reading the personal stories of each "Martyr"... May each of you find the treasures our family as recieved from such a wonderful and enlighting book! God Bless Us One and All.
Rating: Summary: Well whaddya know. The guys have a talent for writing too! Review: This book is entirely addictive. The stories in it are so inspiring and capturing you'll sit there in your chair for hours saying to yourself "One more, just one more, last one!..one more..." until you've finished the whole thing and started over again. Excellent, just great work. Made me proud to be a Jesus Freak.Michael Tait put it perfectly. "What will people think?" is what lots of people are worried about today. Whatever they think, I stand with Mike. I hope it makes them think of Jesus.
Rating: Summary: Wake Up America! Review: I strongly believe that one reason God is using this book is to open the eyes of Christians in America (like myself) and in other free countries: we probably have not experienced being tortured (or killed) for our faith like those who's stories are in this book. Even though we may never have to experience this, we should ask ourselves, do we love Jesus enough to refuse to deny him and to be willing to die for him? A martyr is not a martyr because he has died for his faith, but because he was so WILLING to die for his faith. My faith has been strengthened because of this collection of stories. Like for many others, this book, next to the Bible, is truly the best book I've ever read.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Review: I have been thinking about my life and what else could I give to the Lord. I saw this book and purchased it. It is the best book I've read in a long time. It made me cry to think that these people gave their lives for Christ. It should have a sequel. I tell everyone about it.
Rating: Summary: What a blessing! Review: This inspirational book about martyrs really touches the heart with stories of courageous men, women, and children around the world who have given their lives to proclaim the love of God. "Jesus Freaks" is a truly rewarding and wholesome book~I would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to strengthen their faith. What a better way to achieve it than to listen to the stories and testimonies of other Christians? Two thumbs up!
Rating: Summary: It Changed My Life Like Only the Bible Has Review: This book forced me to look at myself and say, "My faith needs to be strengthened!" Each story arose in me a conviction to become stronger in my faith. Already Americans are facing milder, sneakier forms of persecution, and this book showed me also what may happen if Christians don't speak up! If you buy one book this year, make it this one. You will not regret it. You can email me at Skittles4Christ@aol.com.
Rating: Summary: A Truly Inspirational Book Review: Jesus Freaks is the best book I have ever read. I am not into reading that much but i just couln't put it down. Take my advice, read this book.
Rating: Summary: A World of Unknown Harshness Review: This book was so revealing as to how people all thourghout history have been tormented about their faith in God. He is our Father and it is hard for us not to know how it is not to be his children. This book will and probably has opened the eyes of many of the world people. I just love how the martyred go against the ones martering them. I just also wish that the world would turn their eyes upon this God of ours and just realize how good he is to us and to them if they would just give him the chance. I know I have and just love what he has done for me and my family. This book has been bought by atleast 10 out of our 12 youth and they have read it and compared it to Foxes Book of Martyers and they loved both of them.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Awesome Review: After my Sunday School teacher read me one story out of it, I had to buy it. I would recommend this book to ANYONE!
Rating: Summary: The Church is Built on the Blood of the Martyrs Review: This is one of the most incredible collections of stories about people of FAITH and conviction I have ever read! Having never experienced persecution for my faith it is hard to read some of the detailed accounts of the trials and tribulations found in this book. My favorite portion of the book are the scripture references after each story. I also found the information about the persecution and death of Jesus' 12 disciples very interesting reading. All Christians living in the United States should purchase and read this book. What a gift of freedom, mercy and grace Christ has given to the Church in America. We have it so easy. Read this book and discover the sacrifies that were made, and continue to be made, so Christians could know the life saving (and life changing) power of Jesus Christ. Perhaps after reading this book as the collection plate is being passed next Sunday, it will be a little easier to give a sacrificial gift to the Lord.
