Summary: Inspirational
Review: I found this book quite by accident at a Christian book store I visited during the Easter weekend. The title alone intrigued me, especially since I have been labeled a Jesus freak by co-workers at previous jobs. At my current job I work with a number of individuals that actively ridicule people of faith.

I am from the US and I'm only working in Canada temporarily. I never expected that I would find Canada (British Columbia to be exact) to be so lacking in faith. I have story after story to tell of people speaking against God, religion and faith in general. These people that I'm around don't stop at denying God and Jesus, but oppose anything that even smacks of organized religion. I've heard on the news here that only 33% of Canadians feel that going to Church is worthwhile. Very sad.

The books, "Jesus Freaks," helps me to understand that what I'm going through is very minor compared to what others are enduring. It's helped me put into perspective my problems and has illustrated for me that maybe I could do more.

Mostly I've stayed quiet and let others say their peace. For example, I said nothing when a young woman told a story about how her date over the weekend mentioned God. She told the young Christian that she was a sinner and quite proud of it. She continued for quite some time talking about how stupid this guy was and how dare he talk about God in front of her. This is typical around here. I'm ashamed to say, though, that I didn't say anything. I know now that I should have not remained silent.

Buy this book. Read every account. Put yourself into their shoes. Would you be able to do what these people have done? If not, pray for understanding. Jesus will be their for you, but you need to make yourself available to him. This book will help you to understand what it is we Christians are called to do in the extreme. Even though most of us will never endure death for our beliefs, we all will have to deal with the individuals who don't understand and even oppose our beliefs. Pray for them with kindness and mercy. Love them even though they hate you. That's what our saviour did for us.

Summary: Right up there with the Bible!
Review: This book has won first place in my heart for my favorite book. It has made me stronger in Christ, and I am bolder to share my faith. It has also made me stronger to bear everyday life. For example, I'm 13, and I am not in what you could call the "popular" group. Everyday on the bus, they would persecute me for my clothes and not being "popular". After reading the book my friend Caitlin recommended to me, I have become stronger to know that Jesus is with me every day, and to know that God is watching over me. God bless you, and thank you Caitlin for showing me this wonderful book.

Summary: Are you a Jesus Freak?
Review: The book was awesome! It tells the reader about Martyrs all over the world. From 34AD-1999. Find out all about the believers who wouldn't reject their lord and savior and how some were killed by doing the things that Americans can do every Sunday. If you are a Jesus Freak, a person who would die for Jesus Christ, then read about others like you and pick up this book!

Summary: This book is so awesome!
Review: This book is so awesome! It is based on true events. I never knew Christians are still presucuted today, but this book was such an eye-opener. However, some of the storys require a firm stomach. For instance, one Christians got his fingernails ripped out. This book is very interesting and I was challenged in my own walk with Christ. This book made me think would I be willing to die for Christ. I highly recommend this book, because it is so interesting and the book itself looks so cool that if you read it at school or work people will ask you about it. Then you have an oppurtunity to share your faith with them.

Summary: Inspiring martyrs turn the other cheek rather than fight
Review: Jesus Freaks is a great review of martyrs for their faith. Examples are from around the world and during the 1990's too. This book is an easy read. You can relate to the accounts; not like the old lives of the saints stories. Selected details on martyr mistreatment before 1660 are in the book, "MARTYRS MIRROR of the Defenseless Christians" as compiled by T.J.van Braght.

I consider it a privilege to be counted worthy of suffering for my Lord and Savior because He has suffered for me. AWESOME! You'll be changed after reading this one! A++++

Summary: One of Greatest Books I've Ever Read!
Review: Everytime I feel I have it tough or everything is turning against me, I simply read a story out of this book and it prompts me to see how easy I have it. Then I see how much I really need to live to glorify God. This book has done nothing but strengthen my relationship with God. Thanks DC Talk.
