Summary: Absolutely Beautiful Bible
Review: I just received this bible and couldn't be happier with its fine quality and beauty. This is a relatively large bible with many fine illustrations. The print type is attractive and easy to read. The text is the Revised Standard or "Ignatius Bible", which is an absolute joy to read. I look forward to having this bible for many years. I also look forward to filling in the dates for all of the milestone events in my family as they come along (births, baptisms, marriages, etc.) in the "Family Record" section of the bible. This bible would make an excellent book for a wedding, confirmation, or other event.

Summary: Beautiful Bible and an excellent version all in one!
Review: I just recieved mine yesterday and how beautiful it is! Truly remarkable when you consider its only 50.00! Most Catholic Biblical scholars agree that the Revised Standard Version- Catholic edition (RSV-CE) is the best version for Catholics.
There are over 50 illustrations in this Bible and they are beautiful. Also, the text is in relatively large print and it is very easy to read.
In short, this Bible is really a treasure. Given that the Bible is the Word of God, it is a joy to have it in such a high quality, beautifully illustrated format. Blessings and accolades to the Publishers!

Summary: The Gold Standard for Catholic Family Bibles
Review: This is the ultimate Catholic family bible in the English language, especially since the Italian publisher Fabri has discontinued its lavish and expansive multi-volume illustrated bible (La Bibbia Illustrata). This single volume work is beautifully presented and laid out; the gilded page edges are to be expected in a volume this important -- it is a joy to hold, read or just to take in some of the lavish color illustrations. The pages are a good size and the text is eminently readable. The volume itself is easily manageable -- being just the right size. The RSV is one of the best and most beautiful translations to read, as well as being officially sanctioned by the Catholic Church. There is a vast wealth of other resources making this volume into a truly self-contained resource: dictionary and concordance, stations of the cross, the rosary etc. The classic artwork reproduced (especially the double-page colour plates) truly adds a great "feel" to the entire work. It has obviously been assembled as a work of love, faith and inspiration. This Holy Bible will make a great heirloom to be treasured by successive generations (the family pages are neat touch, in this regard, to truly personalise it) and I intend to purchase a copy for each of my 4 children, as well as for my parents. Summary: A work of art honoring the Holy Bible
Review: This is the ultimate Family Bible. The typeface is clean, large and has generous amounts of white space for easy reading. It's the only bible you will want to use and the version is modern yet full of reverance. There are numerous pages of reproductions of famous Old Masters artwork, and full-color aids such as depictions of the Stations of the Cross and the Rosary. Then, too, the large and lovely Family Record make this a Bible for the generations. The Holy Word is housed within a beautiful, worthy effort. Buy it and you will not regret it. Also, this price can't be matched by any of the Catholic or other bookstores I've visited.
