Summary: If You Want to Understand Women
Review: This is an excellent book. If you don't understand women, this book will change that. Gary Smalley is right on the mark.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Loved it... don't get too caught up in the semantics
Review: This is not really a feminist book, although it may sound like it. Keep in mind: This is a book for improving your relationship with your wife, and improving your marriage. For this, it works. I especially found truth in the premise that it takes around five years for the "baggage" to work itself out. After that, men, its all up to you! Sure, not every argument you have is your (the man's) fault. But you do have the key to resolving those arguments... realizing that womens' fears and hurts are real, and dealing with them. Its not about who is right. It is about understanding what a woman needs, and knowing that she deserves to be loved to the point of self-sacrifice. Listening, understanding, compassion, and faith. And it does not mean that you give in to her every whim. A woman needs her husband to lead, and this book doesn't try to convince you otherwise. It just teaches you how to be a Christ-like leader instead of an army sargent. A very useful book!

Summary: Knowledge is a true gift!
Review: This is the companion to For Better or For Best. It is my belief that women will respond very positively to a man who applies some of these principle in his marriage. Deciding to weather the storms in your marriage is the belief system you need to run as far away from divorce as you can get. (My sympathy goes out to all those lawyers who won't be making any money off you and your friends after you apply these helpful lessons.) When we know we are not threatened by abandonment, that is when we can learn to trust. Tell each other often that you are not going to leave. You are here to work things out and maybe save an otherwise hopeless marriage. It is amazing what these words can do! If nothing else works turn to the creator who made you and ask him for the strength you need to make it through the tough times. You are a soul in the school called life and there are some lessons you cannot learn without a journey into a seemingly hopeless situation.

Summary: If Only he Knew
Review: This is truly an outstanding book if a man wants to have a true relationship with his wife. As a male person (me) reads it, one feels an enormous amount of guilt for the way that you have failed your wife over the years. If you read the book with true desire to change, and apply the principles of the book I am totally confident that this book will change your marriage and your life.

Summary: Every husband should read this book!
Review: We have been married for over 20 years. I thought that I knew my wife fairly well and wasn't even sure this book would be worth my time to read. From the first page I began to gain a greater understanding (and appreciation) of my dear wife. Not only have I learned why she responds to me the way she has, but I have learned how I can change my actions and have an even happier marriage. I feel every man should learn more about how women think, feel, act, and what they expect from their husbands.

Summary: women beware
Review: When I bought this book for my husband one year ago, we were in serious trouble. I bought the book for him as a gift hoping to inspire him to try to pay attention to me. Mostly he laughed it off and put in under the bed to gather dust. Most of what Mr.Smalley writes about what women need is really well put.He also describes a womens needs and if they are not met, well. However, if you, (a woman) reads this book and your mate does nothing and disrespects you even further, you are most basically dealing with a man who is insensitive and disrespectful, and you are probably being verbally, physiclly or emotionally abused or all three. Contact your nearest womens' shelter for more information. My husband is now my EX.

Summary: Good
Review: When I purchased this book, I believed that it would assist singles as well as marrieds with understanding the differences between women and men and how to use these differences to our advantage whether married or single. What I learned was that this book is for married couples in crisis. The book shares how to mend your relationship and move into marital bliss.

The author had good insight for married couples who are on a verge of separation, divorce or who just do not know how to get along. The author included a lot of examples of real-life couples in marital conflict, the advice given, and the growth the couples experienced as a result of marital counseling.

Though some of the information within the book was good, a lot of the author's advice was common sense. I found myself skipping a few sections of the book.
