Summary: Take out the trash......
Review: Thank you God for once again using Beth Moore to speak truth into our lives. It is not usually the obvious, recognizable, 'really big' sins, but the insidious, underlying, almost harmless temptations that have put the small cracks into our temple (as Beth puts it)and allows Satan to destroy us. It made me mindful, and, along with the video, showed me visually not to ignore signs and especially to get the trash out and live in abundance of our Lord. May every believer know the freedom that only comes from Him.

Summary: Too much title, not enough substance
Review: The book fails to live up to it's title. It never really discusses "ungodly" things, beyond the author's one-time lapse into the use of a few swear words. And the solution offered is, of course, "repentance, pray for forgiveness and sin no more". In our complex times I'm afraid this won't make a dent in most of our horrors. The author missed a fine opportunity to assuage some of the many ills that beset today's society.

Summary: Protecting yourself in today's world
Review: The title of this Beth Moore book is certainly a provocative and thought-provoking one. We all wonder why godly people stumble (including ourselves.) The author explains to us the seductive forces in the world today and shows how sincere Christians can fall into wrong thinking and acting. She then details how we can arm ourselves, through prayer, Bible-reading, accountability groups, and other methods to resist the temptation all around us and keep our eyes on God. She describes what repentance really is and shows us how to go about restoring our tarnished relationship with Christ. This is inspiring and is a wonderful "how-to" book for any Christian.

Summary: The Warning, the Watchman, and the Way
Review: This title is the second I have read by Beth Moore, and it is the best yet. It is easy to read, but profound in nature. Many Christians may be inclined to miss the impact of this book because of its simplicity.

Moore here does not seek to be informative, but inspiring. There are many other volumes on the market that offer much better insight into the darkness of human nature. If a person is desiring that sort of deeper understanding, then this book is not the one to purchase. If a person is looking to find motivation to overcome his/her darker side however, then this title is the one to choose.

Moore divides her work into three basic sections: the Warning, the Watchman, and the Way Home. The Warning section describes the attacks Satan makes against devout believers. The Watchman section unfolds ways in which a disciple's defenses can be strengthened to resist such attacks. The Way Home section, as the title implies, points Christians in the right direction to recover from having succumbed to temptation and seduction from the Enemy.

I recommend this book highly to persons who are intent upon living consecrated, victorious lives for Jesus Christ. Moore's honesty, transparency and humility serve only to strengthen the arguments she presents. This one is not a book to miss!

Summary: Why faithful Christians fall into the ways of Satan
Review: When Godly People Do Ungodly Things by writer, educator, and public speaker Beth Moore is a compelling moral, religious, and spiritual examination as to why faithful Christians fall into the ways of Satan. Individual chapters guide those who have strayed to the path of true repentance and redemption of evils. When Godly People Do Ungodly Things is highly recommended for personal and small group discussions as a powerfully written and fervent presented Christian testimony.
