Summary: When Godly People Do Ungodly Things
Review: "If you love Me, feed my sheep." Beth Moore obviously heard the heart of the Lord and her book, "When Godly People Do Ungodly Things" is the answer she responded with.

If everyone who ministers to the Lord's sheep would take Beth Moore's message to heart, great healing would be released within the Body of Christ and untold numbers would begin to move back into places of spiritual wholeness and usefulness.

This is a timely demonstration of the breadeth, and length, and depth, and height of God's love, mercy and grace to ALL who repent and turn back to Him. Thank you, Beth Moore!

Summary: A Must read!!!
Review: Beth Moore opens up every believer to the truth that 'it can happen to you.' She tells quite plainly of secenarios which could cause a child of God to fall into the trap of seduction. She gives godly guidance on how to get back on the road to recovery from a fall into seductive behavior. Her guidance is scriptually based and her zeal to help the afflicted can be felt throughout the book.

Summary: Highly Recommended Reading
Review: First, a word about the audience this book addresses.

1. It does not address carnality. Sinnners are already lost - they are not Godly.

2. It does not address frauds. People that pretend to be Christians but lead a life opposed to God are sinners dressing up as lovers of God. She points out that just because someone fails does not mean they are fraudulent. Fraudulent believers never really lived for God anyway.

This book adresses people who walk with God daily, yet fall into pits of sin doing unGodly things.

2 Corinthians 11
2 For I am zealous for you with a godly eagerness and a divine jealousy, for I have betrothed you to one Husband, to present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 But I am fearful, lest that even as the serpent beguiled Eve by his cunning, so your minds may be corrupted and seduced from wholehearted and sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

Secondly, Some Christains believe it is not possible to be seduced one once you are a Christian. Beth Moore writes that this is false and is proved true by the above scripture (among others). Christians are being seduced TODAY. Consider David - a man after God's own heart - He fell into an adulterous relationship and didn't realize what he had done until the prophet revealed it to him! She writes that those of us who are already walking with God need to beware. We are living in the age of seduction and we who walk with God can fall into traps. Knowing this, we should feel the sense of urgency to guard ourselves against being deceived.

Beth Moore explains that she has received countless letters from true believers that have fallen into traps. Godly people that have a history of walking with God, but fall into sin share some common denominators that she shares in this book.

I highly recommend that every believer in Jesus Christ should read this book - now.

Summary: An important message, although a bit wordy at times
Review: First, I must admit that this is the first Beth Moore book that I have read. I have heard her speak before (during a marriage conference), but have not read anything written by her.

Overall, I liked the message of the book. It is very difficult to live in a holy manner given the ungodliness that we face everyday in modern society. This book helps to understand the challenge, and offers an approach to prepare for the spiritual battles that you may face. Her warning that mature Christians may face the toughest battles is well placed since we do not talk much about it within the Christian community. I particularly liked her one analogy of "the lion is in the yard" - this section of the book is well done.

The book also offers a plan of restoration particularly aimed at those believers who have veered from the straight and narrow path. Although her message is simple, it is biblically based and may be useful for someone who is not sure what to do about the mess they have made of their life.

My main negative about the book is that her writing is not very concise. She writes likes she talks and includes a few too many personal comments throughout the text. Having said that, it is just a minor distraction, not a major irritation.

This book offers a wake-up call to the church about sin. We face an enemy who is ruthless in his approach to destroy our lives, or distract us from our call to follow Jesus. By reading this book you will be prepare yourself for the battle we face. If you do not think that we are in a battle then I suggest you read this book in order to face up to the reality of the challenges Christians face, even mature ones.

Summary: What a shame
Review: I have never read such a poorly written book. There was no point to anything. "The devil made me do it" was her main focus for the first half of the book and the second half rambled about redemption, sortof. It also was written from such a remedial reading level. Fifth graders could easily understand the vocabulary used. I was disappointed and annoyed at the waste of time I put into this book.

Summary: A stirring & challengeing study
Review: I just finished the study, Why Godly People do Ungodly Things, and it was life altering for me. I felt that God had challenged me to move another step in my journey of trusting God. It was the first Beth Moore study that I had been involved in and I am very interested in reading more of her books.

Summary: God is not finished with me yet
Review: Maybe circumstances in your life have led you down the unfortunate path of living with or working alongside another human being who professes to know God, yet he or she speaks and acts totally contrary to Biblical principles. Their behavior or speech does not mesh with any of your previous theological upbringing, and you just can't figure it out. Ms. Moore casts light on the subject with comments such as, "While all of us have the capability of departing into ungodliness, not all share the same degree of risk."

The book details specific steps to take if a person is personally involved in a downward spiral of sin, whether on the threshold of embarking in sinful behavior, in the midst, or after the fact. Ms. Moore minces no words and admits parts of the book not everyone will agree upon, but that's okay.

There is a poignant, hopeful theme evident throughout the pages: God doesn't make any junk...He's never finished with me...and I am a continual work in progress.

I, personally, can relate to Ms. Moore's original acknowledgments as she proclaims: "My Father, I will never understand the extravagant nature of Your grace and mercy. You continue to take the worst blights on my Christian track record and use them for good. If anyone has tested Romans 8:28, surely I did! I am proof You are true to Your Word."

If you're searching for answers to any of the above situations-reach for this book!

Summary: Painful Truth Addressed
Review: She gets into what we all need to be dealing with and addresses it from a powerful biblical perspective. In this age of compromise and the entertainment industry driven elimination of values, we all need to wake up and get serious about what is going on in ourselves and all around us. I just saw her interview on James Robison's program, along with her husband. She comes across as very real and sincere. I don't have a clue what the 2 people who wrote the negative reviews read or where they are coming from. I hope they find what they are looking for.

Summary: There But For the Grace of God...
Review: Struggling to understand why a wonderful devout friend of mine committed crimes that landed him in state prison, I was intrigued by the title of this book when I saw it at a friend's house, so I bought it. Beth does a wonderful job of explaining how those who are truly committed to Christ can fall into Satan's snares. The elements she describes of Satan's seduction were verified by my friend who said his experience was just as described by Beth. A much-needed and obviously God-inspired book with a serious warning for those of us who think we're too close to the Lord to ever forsake His Word.
