Summary: or how to turn a woman into a dependent child
Review: After reading this book a thought came to mind.Does the
writer actually believe women are this weak?In need of
constant gift giving and attention? If so,then us women
have a long way to go and much to change in our
what the writer believes is innate female psychological
make up.And why is every behavior seen as innate or
hard wired? Our society perpetuates the man on the white
horse coming to rescue the helpless woman. This is
especially true among Christian men who will safe a

woman in order to feel 'more manly'.There has got to be
more to a relationship than games and sterotypes.
What? Women only want sex if we are slowly warmed up all
day?Well it's the feeling I got from the book.Also I got this
sick feeling that no matter how much self esteem and confidence
I have,a Christian men will always think of me as the
'little woman'.Men are sterotyped as romantic dufuses while women as endless bottomless pits of love hunger.Sad!
BR>Any man who thinks he has to do things for a woman to get her to
do something for him is a manipulator.Where is equal share and
care? Not found here!

Summary: Two books in one: A bad thing
Review: After studying this book I've decided that it's really two different books. The book was written by two different authors who have subtle but opposing viewpoints. The first author, whose theme is dominant throughout the book, insists that husbands should submit to their wives in everything, giving up their essence and individuality to do so. He misquotes scripture, makes generalizations about men that are often untrue, and his assumption is that husbands essentially emotionally abuse their wives and should stop. Since he was like this in the early part of his marriage, I understand why he makes that assumption.

The second author's theme is that of mutual submission. He writes that husbands should consult with their wives in decision making, that the wife has needs unique to being a woman, and that a husband should strive to meet them. He points out that the wife won't always get her way and that the method in which you communicate that is important. His is the minority theme in the book.

You can tell which author wrote what sections. Sometimes a new paragraph will be written by the other author, and even though there is no subheading or anything in the text to indicate a change in authorship, the tone changes so drastically that you re-read the section trying to figure out why the theme of the chapter just changed and why the text is convoluted.

Overall I disliked this book a great deal. It is unbalanced, suggesting that every problem in a marriage is the fault of the husband, and the first author stereotypes men as abusers, something not true of all men.

Summary: If Only This Book Had Been Written Years Earlier!
Review: As I read this book tears poured down my cheeks. This is how I should have treated my wife. This is what she deserved, but it was not what she got. I now do not have a wife after 25 years of marriage. I am now single but I can tell you this when I do find another wife this book will be my workbook! The book is easy and light reading but it is a very powerful book. I would have paid a thousand times the price for this valuable information. If you want your wife's heart, practice the pages of this book.

Summary: This is a book that could change your life!
Review: I am a woman who is married to a man much like one of the authors (By the way, contrary to another reviewer, I would never describe them as "abusers." They simply didn't understand how much pain they were causing their wives by their actions.). I know my husband loves me deeply, but he has never really understood how to connect with me so we can enjoy the fantastic sex life he (and I) wants! This book is about mutual submission, and any husband who takes it seriously will reap rewards that he has only dreamed of. Men, your wives want what this book describes more than anything else in life. I had given up that anything like this was even possible after 20 years of marriage. For one thing, I couldn't even describe it to my husband so he understood, but these authors have been there and figured it out, and they speak to men like men. They found these answers by seriously seeking God and asking Him to show them what their marriage was really supposed to look like (after some serious problems, which almost destroyed their marriages and their wives!). If you are serious about having the most fantastic marriage that God intended for all of us, then read this book and live it like these guys are.

Summary: Great not just for husbands
Review: I don't have a wife yet, and in fact I am MANY steps away from getting one (LOL!). But I am very glad that I read this book. Not only that it will help me become a better husband, it also helps me better understand women in general. This book explains, in a convincing way, what it really means to be "manly" and be the head of the family: rather than being macho and force your wife to submit to you, YOU have to submit to HER first. She will then return in kind and submit to you back. In other words, mutual submission is important. All guys should read this, and if we all follow the guidelines suggested by the authors, I bet this would be a better world because both men and women will be happy.

Summary: Ministry to married people
Review: I found this book thought provoking. I think that married people will find that these writer cut to the chase and tell you what the Bible says about the standards of your relationship. This is the sequel to Every Man's Battle which is very good for the guys.

Summary: Nothing But The Truth
Review: I purchased this book after troubled times in my marriage. I found it more moving than an actual counselor. Giving real examples of other couples, the authors touch your heart and drive one to changing past and current behaviors. I have already referred this book to anoher close friend and will continue to do so.
