Review: The Word: The Bible in 26 Translations (hereafter known as The Word) is a Bible that is unlike other parallel Bibles. It contains the complete the complete KJV text along with clauses from 25 other versions of the Bible. The publishers claim this approach is different from normal parallel bibles, so that text is not repeated. While this sounds good, this approach puts the publisher into the place of textual critic and denies the reader the context of the other 25 versions in order to make a judgment on the passages meaning. Another problem I have with The Word is that the translations it uses is very dated. The most current translation available is the Amplified Bible, which was published in the early 60's. That means you won't find the proliferation of versions that have have been released since that time in this volume. Overall, The Word is a good noble effort. Sadly, it falls flat. Instead, I would get a regular parallel bible instead of this.

My only peeve - and it's very, very minute - is that it does not have a concordance or dictionary in the back. But, don't let that stop you from ordering and RECEIVING Gods' Word in more than one language!!! You WILL enjoy having this...

Review: This book is a rare treasure! I have had mine for years. I'm buying additional copies to give as gifts. Not only do I enjoy reading it, but, I use it as a tool for studies.
