Summary: Uplifting
Review: Max Lucado has a wonderful talent for writing. His words flow and are like poetry. His work is so easy to read and when you read, it's not like you reading the words off a page, but more like he wrote this book just for you. Like when you read a letter from a good friend. Read at least one of his books. It's definetely worth your money.

Summary: A Heart Felt - Easy Read
Review: Max Lucado turns out Christian books like Stephen King writes novels - often. It is no wonder that he could arguably be one of the most proliftic Christian writers in the last few years. I am not really a fan of Lucado's work. Not becasue he isn't a skilled writer, but instead, because I enjoy more apologetic type material (if and when I'm not reading my deeply moving and insightful Batman comics). This new book, "He Chose The Nails", is probably his best work since "In The Grip of Grace."

This book is heart felt and honest. In writing it, Max often refers to the lessons he has learned in life, and then makes a great parable for the reader. This is always his strength - his ability to communicate to just about anyone who is willing to listen. His points and lessons are well made. He is funny, honest, as well as hopeful and sad. In a quick two hours, the reader, approaching this material in a spirit of openness, will expierence many emotions: hope, loss, joy, sadness, laughter, and peace.

This book is an outstanding read. Pastor Lucado's style is easy, yet, insightful. He gets right to the point and draws on a vast-array of expierence and stories to guide the reader to his conclusions. No mis-interpretation about the thesis or conclusion here. The opening, middle and end-game are skillfully woven into a heart felt, deeply moving read.

Summary: Jesus' Wonderful Choice For All People
Review: Max Lucado, a wonderful writer and teacher, brings it on home to us again in another one of his easily explained books.
In HE CHOSE THE NAILS, Mr. Lucado elucidates on every detail of the promises of the cross and the symbols pertaining to the crucifixion.
When you as a person are in physical pain or mental agony or abuse, or even when you feel as though the world has turned it's back on you, let me invite you to witness the sufferings and insults which our Saviour bore, highlighted in this book. His humiliations, physical pain, and shame are paramount, when we compare them with how we whine about our little aches, complaints and oppression in this world. May Jesus reign supreme....our only hope......our comfort and SALVATION. For us, HE CHOSE THE NAILS
This is a wonderful gift for Fathers Day. Go for it.

Summary: Anyone Who Loves Jesus Christ Will Love This Book
Review: Mr. Lucado is a new author to me. This was the first book of his I read...the first of many now that I have discovered the wondrous way he has of communicating about Jesus Christ.

As Christians, we listen to the word, and study the bible. We read books about Jesus, and learn about Him from all these sources. But I found new places in my heart touched by this book....the way Mr. Lucado shared about Jesus, I was seeing Him and understanding Him in a new way. There were times I was so filled with joy, I was almost bursting. My heart would be in pain sometimes too. But while experiencing these feelings, I was learning more about who He is, and what He did for us. It left me deeply grateful that I, by God's grace, know who Jesus is.

The bible, in 2nd Peter 3:18 tells us to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ". This beautiful book gave me the opportunity to do that.

Summary: What God did to win your heart
Review: Not since Robert Folghum (It was on fire when I lay down on it) have I read anything by anyone who could find so much meaning and depth in the seemingly ordinary.Max Lucado (Pronouneced Lu- KAY doh not Lu-KAH-doh He wrote an intresting chapter on this) uses ordinary events to illustrate and explain biblical concepts in simple and easly understood ways.He also has some fascinating insights in to the crucifcation of Jesus. Every detail of the crusifiction is explained with amazing clarity, from the crown of thorns and the inscription above his head to the burial and reserection. The only problem I had with this book was it's brevity the book can easily be read in less then five hours leaving the reader wanting more. The last fifty pages or so are a kind of study guide for the book. I would have preferred an extra fifty pages of Mr. lucado's insights than a chapter by chapter study guide. All in all though this is an excellent book for all christian and contains some useful insights and humor.

Summary: Max is the best!
Review: The entire foundation of Christianity rests upon the life of Jesus. His intense love was shown to us by becoming a mortal being. God wrapped Himself in flesh, was criticized, laughed at, scorned, and crucified, just so we could be saved. And the way the Max inspects even the tiniest details of the cross and the emotions behind it, is certainly most intriguing and unique. I have had this book for a week and I have read it twice. If you have trouble realizing God's love for you, or you are doubting, you need to buy this book and be refreshed.

Summary: He Chose The Nails - Lucado
Review: This "riviting" book of the awesome accomplishments and outright love deemed necessary, when Christ gave everything He had, willingly, should be suggested reading for every Christian. I have been a Christian for 51 years and my understanding of His sacrifice was truly mind boggling! Written with Lucado's usual gift of simlplicity and power.

Summary: Great Holy Week Read
Review: This book really touched my heart and soul. It is intense... but that is because Jesus loves us so intensly. It gave me a deeper understanding and a new perspective on Jesus' life up to and including his death. I must've been in the right place at the right time for reading this book, but it touched me in a way that few other books (aside from the Bible) ever have.
