Rating: Summary: A Great Book Even After You Find Mr. Right Review: I first read this book when my husband and I were still in a dating relationship, before our marriage. The teachings in this book helped me to keep my focus on the most important relationship in my life--my relationship with Jesus. We women can have a tendency to allow our fellowship with the Lord to lapse when we meet a special man and the Lord begins to take second place in our lives. This book was a powerful reminder to me that even AFTER you meet Mr. Right, it's my relationship with my Lord that must still take precedence. This book helped me to keep my mind, heart, AND body pure for my husband-to-be. Now that I've been married five years, the lessons learned from Debby and Jackie are still applicable today. I have a wonderful husband (a real Boaz!) but even a great marriage has growing pains. When I find myself in times of discouragement or dissatisfaction in my marital relationship, I remember that it's not my husband's job to fulfill me, it's the Lord's job. It never fails that when I do a spiritual checkup, I discover that it's really my relationship with Jesus that needs the tune up and when I start giving Jesus my devotion once again, my discouragement always disappears, confirming what Debby and Jackie are teaching with this book--only Jesus can make us whole. If more women realized this principle, there might be fewer divorces among God's people.
Rating: Summary: For everyone--teens included! :) Review: I found this book while exploring the Amazon for books on Christian dating. I've already read Joshua Harris' books (I Kissed Dating Goodbye, Boy Meets Girl), When God Writes Your Love Story (Eric & Leslie Ludy), I Gave Dating a Chance, Getting Ready for the Guy/Girl Thing, etc. And all of these are very good books, but most are not on "my level." The first 4 seemed to be written for those at the "marrying age", and being 16 I do not feel I am qualified to be at that stage in life. The last one (I believe) is written for the pre-teen; the girl/boy who hasn't the slightest clue how to even speak to a member of the opposite gender. But Lady in Waiting is different. Debbie & Jackie address the female crowd of singles; those who are not in a dating relationship. Many times reading even a Christian book on dating can get you down. I used to think & pray, "I agree with everything they're saying. When's it my turn, Lord? Why am I not in a relationship with a guy now? Where is Mr. Right?" But Lady in Waiting has been teaching me about Ruth. How she used her free time as a widow for God's glory; not wallowing in her own self pity. I have a new resolve to become the lady God wants me to be. After all, if I want God to send me a man after His own heart who loves me as I am, I need to become someone worthy of such devotion. So, if you're sick of waiting, read Lady in Waiting.

Rating: Summary: Good read for a Single Christian Lady Review: I have developed a group of single women to focus on the teachings of this book and workbook. So far it has been a wonderful blessing for all of us. We have learned about one another as well as a deeper understanding for the Lord. I now know that I must devote my trust, faith, and patience to the Lord before I can reveal these qualities to my Godly man. A lady in waiting comforts your mind and inspires you to become all the characters it describes. The more you read, the more you desire to become a "Lady In Waiting."
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book for Christian women of all ages. Review: I highly reccomend this book to all Christian women
Rating: Summary: Life book Review: I read lady in waiting then did the workbook. This book is a true blessing. Instead of focusing on finding a man, it teaches you to focus on your relationship with God. It helped me to focus on God and what his plan is for me. I actually read a whole book of the bible the book of Ruth and understood all of it . The workbook forces you to look deeper at yourself, God, and the Bible. This book has caused me to spend more quiet time with God on a daily basis. This is a book I have already recommened to my friends-single and married, and relatives. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Outstanding insights Review: I really enjoyed this book, but I feel that Michelle McKinney Hammond has a more down-to-earth perspective on the single Christian woman's life. Kendall and Jones almost seem to have that "we haven't messed up much" attitude and speak to that audience, whereas Hammond gets down and dirty and acknowledges that things do happen... Read this book, but also read "What to Do Until Love Finds You".
Rating: Summary: This book opened a lot of doors for me Review: I went to a bible study at my chruch that was based around this book! I realized that only God can complete me and no one else can. I reccomd this book highly.
